That team is more than capable of going to Fev and winning the game and still some quality to come back in to it.

Its funny but I compare the teams and I think we look stronger overall than Fev in everything but the key positions. The not so funny thing is that its usually those key positions that win games.

I guess that's why they are referred to as 'key' positions! Personally think the likes of Ridyard will make the difference, we just miss a bit of quality and speed at 6,7,9.

We still don't like DR it is just reality says we have to use it as we do not have the money you lot have (your own ground so take all the income), Leigh, London and Toronto (all have money men) so cannot afford a big or expensive squad.

Agree we also need some speed in the backs hence why we need DR players!

All clubs need better players. It dosen't mean you should sell yourselves down the river and join up with every Tom Dick and Harry.

I understand all the reasons why you're club is using the system. I genuinely realise this.
What I'm having lots of nibbles at is the hypocracy of your coach and a significant majority of your fans hyperctitical approach to fev using the system last year.
Users of this very forum were quick to point out their perception of the pitfalls of the system and Fev rhinos mantra over and over again...
Richard Marshall himself in a post game interview was having a pop at Fev over it's use. I chuckled at the time as I kind of guessed fax would be in a similar situation one way or another this year.
Now I read this forum and I still chuckle.

Im not sure what the fuss is, its not like its the first year we have been DR with someone. The good thing is we have fought to keep our reserves running and once again this year we will have players that come through it whom by the end of the season will be good enough for regular rugby at this level.

Fuss? I think the system stinks. It does nowt for the game overall. Player opportunities diminish all the time and this system creates even fewer opportunities. The game is on its botty.
There was not as inevitable that fax would use it to the max and I would come chelping on about it after fax fans gave is sheeite about it.

Oh we agree on the system, Im just pointing out we have not completely sold out as we are still running the reserves with a view to promoting from within. We also have to put a winning team on the field or at least the best one that we can possibly get out there so there is a little bit of catch 22 in there. I think everyone knows what Hudds shay view is on it lets just hope he doesnt take his previous stance of not coming to a game if we have DR in as he won't see many games this year.

Ah, so when you say something it's having a nibble or tongue in cheek but when we say something it's hypocrisy by the coach and a significant munber of Fax fans even though only about 1 percent of Fax fan even come on the forum.
Remember who used it first to the full, under a number of different coaches and then some forcing others to follow or be left behind.
Your soul was sold and then re sold a long time ago so don't lecture others about hypocrisy Robin.

All this proves is that the reserves can compete against other reserves and not elsewhere as the pre season warm up games showed by losing all 3.
Problem is we aren't playing in a reserves league and before "Righteous Robin" chips in Fev Rhinos proves it just as much as any other club.

But when I hear the fax coach and fans heaping bilge upon Fev for the use of DR.... then the same coach and club embrace the system to the max which apart from one odd exception is now (sort of) accepted by the fax brethren.... yes I call that hypocracy.
Trawl these fora for the last 6 years and you won't find a post from me supporting the system.
I'm with hudd-shay and plead not guilty to the hypocracy charge.

Agreed. I would love to return to a reserves league and do away with DR. It's sheeite. The game is on its botty. There's nowt righteous about it.
The sanctimony of DR has now disappeared as your club fully embrace DR.
At least you run a reserves..... for now...

Especially as the use of DR tells them exactly what the coach thinks of them

Which was one of the criticisms levelled by fax at Sharpy last year.... I.e. "What does this do to that lads making way" etc etc etc
