Its not really our game to market, Its Ovendens, we're the away team afterall.

though i'd ay its 99% likely to be played at the shay, but we may wind up with away dressing room ect.

This is a good and bad draw.
Good as its a local team and hopefully they will get a decent pay day as even a crowd of say 1500 at a tenner will give them a few quid and we will win obviously.
Bad as if we slaughter them we may get criticised and it won't do them much good but hey they once got was it 110 against them at Rochdale it could be a very big score if we want it, sorry Ovvy (where I grew up from 8 to 18 by the way).
I was at Thrum Hall the last time Ovenden played Fax and it was when Fax had been at rock bottom and there was a chance Ovvy might beat Fax, a lot of the crowd thought they would I remember, luckily they didn't pour more misery on the club who had hit hard times.

On the point raised by Fax4Life, Rochdale Hornets set a new Challenge Cup record score when they won 120 - 4 in the 2005 competition, beating the previous record of 119 - 2 set in 1914 by Huddersfield (before they had grown up into Giants!) against Swinton Park. BUT Rochdale's massive score came against ILLINGWORTH, not Ovenden.

Despite that, a VERY comfortable win is on the cards for Fax.

Doubt they'd even play due to the costs.

Wath Brow got drawn away to a french side a few years back, think the RFL footed the bill for their travel

It actually says 13.30, which is half past one.

There is no confirmation of venue yet. According to the football site, they are at home that day (saturday) and playing at 3 o'clock so that would rule out the Shay.

Will probably play on the Sunday instead.

I think with Ovenden in effect being the "Home" team the club have chosen to list Ovenden's usual kick off time and game day which is Saturdays at 1.30pm at Four Fields (as I understand it). However as the clubs are in negotiation I would expect this to change to Sunday at 3pm at the Shay.

It is up to Ovenden though and they COULD opt for a neutral venue??

a neutral venue away from halifax would hit the crowd and cost a lot, so is a no go.

I'm not saying it will just that they could. They are the home team and it is up to them where they host the game as long as it meets minimum RL H&S standards

Two of my work mates play for Ovvy so this is a great draw

Be interesting to see how they get on v the Fax lads, slightly intimidating I think
