Following on from Neils update i have just this minute being speaking to Dave's dad Ronnie and they are waiting to find out when Dave will be moved to Leeds.
It was scheduled for yesterday just after dinner but was postponed due to oxygen and ambulance issues and it has been rescheduled for sometime today.
The medical staff did not want to leave anything to chance and sums up their magnificent support and care they have given from day one.
Dave is concious and there is eye movement he has been shown rugby and football literature and he follows the pages and is aware of what is going on around him in the ward.
It is impossible to say however what David is taking in and further specialist treatment is scheduled at the medical teams disscretion.
There has been attempts to converse further with him but he has been unable to reply at the moment.
Ronnie and Anne remain strong and positive.
The family have been supported by close friends, officialls at HRLFC and takes great comfort from the many well wishes from the Halifax rugby and football fan base and from many other clubs.

A man held over the attack on Fax fan David Singer has been bailed.

The 29-year-old, from Pontefract, was questioned on suspicion of assault yesterday after his arrest in the early hours of Tuesday.

Mr Singer, 32, is still in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Maybe reality!

Well personally after everything that has gone on - this would be a good idea with proceeds going to the hospitals that helped maybe?

Would be a good way of building a few bridges between the fans - a common cause to support for the day, and if there is one thing the rugby league family does well it is to rally round a good cause.

Nah its too early the GF experience is still fresh in most peoples minds plus Dave is still not a very well man is he?
It would only take one idiot from either club and it may kick things off, I don't want that either way.

Fev fans burned the bridge and it will be a long time before it is rebuilt imo.

How about playing Warrington? Think that idea has already be mentioned. With the proceeds going to the hospital as you said?

David has been successfully transfered to the Leeds General late yesterday afteroon / early evening and is in the High Dependancy Unit which is stricktly private ward.

His condition is as previously described and he remains a very poorly man at the moment, it will take some time before a clearer picture developes on how it will ultimately turn out.

If there are any developements i will keep you posted.

David is still often in my thoughts and I prey every night that he makes a full recovery. A lovely guy who would harm no 1 hope to see you well again soon David.

Indeed, same here including alot of people outside of RL too!

I know Dave is a Town fan and a Fax Fan.Maybe both sets of fans could look to organize an annual game of 11 a side soccer and help both sets of fans support each other? Glad to see Dave recovering but also know from experience that it will be a long road that will be tough for him , his family and friends.

David's condition is improving. Signs are good but will be a long road to recovery. He is however progressing if only slowly. He has now been able to write his name but is not yet on solid food. He has now had the traciotamy(spelling?) taken out. Matt and some of the players are taking the trophy over to Leeds so I am sure that will give him an extra boost and aid his recovery.

Small steps but great to hear, im sure once he's home the fax family will look after him.

Any more recent updates?

RB and everyone as of last week Dave has shown some improvement in as much as he is saying the odd word or two but not very often.
He is switching chanels on the tv but it is unclear how much he is aware of what he is actualy doing.

Terry Wainman who is close friends of David and myself showed Dave the photo that was featured in the Courier a week or so back when they were walking in the Scottish Highlands together.

Dave took the photo and was really looking at it but there was not much expression on his face but he did seem to be aware of who and what it was but it is still early days yet and it is very difficult and sensitive to put into words.

At the moment all everyone can do is hope for the best and not dwell on the worst scenario.

I will be seeing Dave hopefully next weekend and will post back.

Little tiny steps are better than no steps at all. Thanks for the updates, I'm sure I'm not the only one that still holds this man in my thoughts despite never meeting him.

This is a long slog as we were warned and shows the severity of Dave's injuries and sorry to say the attack.
We must not forget this and more importantly Dave and his future.
We long for the day when Dave hopefully can be fully aware of everything around him and feeling better.
