There you go, Court date is set for 10.30 on the 10th of november. HMRC are looking to wind the company up. That could mean 2 Champioonship teams up to SL. Alternatively it could mean the RFL bail them out or they let toulouse in regardless. I would hope the latter is a definate NO as clearly the Expansion aint working.'"
I know its sounds harsh but this is one club that I would like to see disappear, they add nothing to our game only the 'being in Wales' so the game is not just in England bit, so what? who cares in Wales? Not many.
Plus they are in SL by default, the original club got in purely by being in Wales and this is a new club now based in Wrexham not the original one that was based in South Wales. Remember they got allowed in last year through the back door to save the Fat Controllers face, look what we and the rest of the Championship clubs have to do to get into SL through this stupid Licencing system!!!!
Nah good riddance I say.
But you can bet that the RFL will do their damnest to save them saying it is in the interests of the game etc...
I would love to do a Freedom of Information on the RFL and see where all the money from the Grand Finals goes????
We have heard it all before, funny how they let the original Rochdale Hornets club die so they had to rise as a new club technically now called Hornets RL. Sames goes for Whitehaen they nearly died this summer I could go on.

| my post was in refence to the coming season then moving on to 2012
if and its a big IF the welshies go bust, what do u do for 2011
Run with 13 or look to add another club from NL1, personally i cannot see any other team than Widnes
A) Having enough money (proving their back has it) to even contemplate playin in S/L in 2011
b) being so desperate they would consider doing it
Any NL club would be in the same poistion, 99% of their squad are not S/L unless they would be in S/L now, our best player has gone to the bulls, and is not gaunteed a starting place!
It would take a huge amount of cash to jump from NL to Sl at this late stage (its not even sure it will happen yet!)
What long term damage would it do, to both support and finance
News just in, Aston has said Sheff are ready, they will do it!

| I see.
They should just run with 13 teams for 2011 and not force strain on another team for no reason. Even Widnes at a guess will have sponsors etc already for next season which will be set at a Championship price and won't be able to get the necessary finacial backing at such short notice. Widnes will be fully in place to get the 2012 spot and have probably got everything set for then, it doesn't help them to be in it next year presumably

| If the RFL don't manage to keep Crusaders going throughout 2011, then I can't see anyone but Toulouse being chosen. It'd be excuse the RFL have been looking for, we all know how much they want to put Toulouse in Super League. And then in 2012 Widnes will replace what seems to be Wakefield or Cas. This whole things not going to change the RFL's plans for promotion, in some ways it's just going to make it easier and speed it up. It's how I see it anyway. And I very much doubt that they'd consider running it on 13 teams, despite it being the better option.

| It can only be Toulouse that replace them which is a real shame because it could have opened the gate for us. I would not be surprised if the RFL bail out Crusaders as they did Harliquins anyway.

| I will not be done with supporting Halifax either and what is more I am not too bothered if they do promote Tolouse either.I do not think it is right far from it but on the other hand they never fetch any fans we are as well having another heartland club in.
I have never agreed with how the RFL have looked after the expantionist clubs I have never followed Fax to Wales or Tolouse and never would.I am hopeing that the next time we are playing against Tolouse away we can set up an enjoyable event where Fax fans staying at home, can do so together and at the same time make some money for the Faxbuilder fund.
I would never let the RFL push me out of supporting my own club ,it has hapened too much where people have walked away because of the RFL.
Ralph Rimmer whilst Chief Exec at Sheffield supported the merger with Huddersfield and blamed the fact that it didn`t work on another Sheffield team being allowed to start up.He said " as instead of Sheffield people traveling up to watch Shuddersfield they were staying in Sheffield and continuing to watch Sheffield. He just did not get it , this is the man they have brought in to oversee the franchising and he can`t grasp that people walk away from the game rather than watch a "manufactured side". The man is a Patsy of the first order.

Me neither , good riddance , they should not be in our comp anyway ,definatley not with a relegation excemption
They have to replace Crusaders if they drop out , or the ' Big Bang ' Millenuim weekend cannot be done , they need an equal number of teams to make it work

They should be in Championship one from the standards they have played, Relegated in 2009, No Northern Rail appearance or grand final, or playoff even and yet they get into Super League without really competing for the last 3 years, ( a bit like widnes )
Then get the same in SL with 3 years win lose or draw.
At least Widnes have done something with Stadium, Youth, Crowds and profit. Toulouse have done nothing at all.
It borders on insane!, They dont have crowds or a following or anything. Expanse my A-hole.

But that`s the point the RFL only listen to the Super League clubs anyhow and they will not be bothered. They should be because it means another trip to France for their fans and for their club another week of no show opposition fans. Me thinks to swing this with the Super League clubs they will have to offer them all more money. Which of course will leave less for the Championship sides.

| It would be wrong to criticise Toulouse as they have clearly been a huge success in attracting fans of all ages to the club, as their “Official” attendees last season showed
(from RFL)
Halifax – 902
Widnes – 983
Eagles – 2200
Whitehaven -1071
Featherstone -1328
Barrow -1500
Batley - 2500
Leigh -1225
Cougars – 1823
Dewsbury-850
It may be that one or two of these may be inaccurate but I would not wish in any way to argue with the “official attendances” or to suggest that this would make any club worth or not worth a place in super league

| It would be inteteresting to see Dragons % away support and then factor in how many UK fans would travel twice year! let alone once
money is hard to come by these days, and £400 for a weekend in Toulouse will not be many if any people's priority for cash!
Toulouse is an absoulte non starter!end off

Of course they can! They do whatever they feel like and sod the rest. They move the goal posts whenever it suits them.
Let SL have Toulouse. Let the SL fans choose whether they have the funds to travel to two away games in France in this recession or not. Let the Toulouse travelling fans fork out their Euros to visit the mighty SL clubs. (My little joke. There aren't any travelling Toulouse fans are there?)

| Toulouse should be no where near super league until it has been demonstrated that Les Catalan are producing home grown players of the right quality, and the French produce a competitive national side. Otherwise, all the RL are doing is giving another 17 journeymen Aussies a job.
Whilst I'd obviously love to see us back in Super League, it seems inevitable that the powers at be have given Widnes the nod for the next round of franchises. I can't say I'm too bothered. These last 3 seasons have been great - going to matches where you know there is a chance you'll win, but that it will be a competetive game, playing traditional teams in grounds that have atmosphere (unlike most of the sterile venues where SL is played). The Championship is a great competition and next year looks like it will be even tighter with several teams with a realistic chance of winning.
The powers at be may say I am stuck in my ways, but what they are doing is not working. Only 4 teams have ever won Super League (in fact I think with the exception of Hull once, only those same 4 teams have actually made the grand final) and our international team have again showed that Super League does not have the intensity levels required to produce players that can compete with Australia and NZ. They need to find a way that produces a genuinely competetive Super League, and they are kidding themselves if they think this will be achieved by creating artificial teams in areas with no grassroots.

Why all this 'it has to be Toulouse' rubbish???
They have not ticked any boxes apart from one, they are not near another SL club.
Toulouse is a RU stroghold and the wrong place to even try a RL team, plus Catalans are hardly pulling up trees these days and as for helping the French national team?
They lost to ....................................... Wales (full of second and third rate Aussies plus some second rate Englishmen!)
For Crusaders read Toulouse in 5 years or less time going bust they would not be sustainable, a word Fat Controller needs to get into his thick skull.

Well the 4 teams are just what Maurice Lyndsy intended when he brokered the deal with Sky. I remember him saying in years to come he envisaged a Super Super League 4 teams from Gt Britain 2 from France then the rest of the division made up from Australia and New Zealand. They would play half there games here then fly to Southern hemisphere and play the rest When he said it I thought he was mad, now I think it will happen just not for a while.
Wouldn`t it be nice if Crusaders did happen to go bust if the Championship clubs could just refuse to take them.
