You think news of a major new singing on a fax board is a nothing theed?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Aston does leave at the end of this season. Needs to be playing every week at his age, short career and all of that - also probably isn’t happy to be backup.

Lilly isn’t happening.

Already signed.he fell out with bradfraud after Kear left and Widnes not in for him so coming to fax.

It's not nothing. And however totally wrong or maybe right Craig David is, he has passion for the sport and he's got us debating.

The courier is a waste of time. The on line version is pants. Very very FC Halifaxcenteic. There has been no real report of our games or reports on how well we are doing. Plenty of off season cack about FCHT. They have lost their first 3 this season and there are still more arrivals about them than the Panthers. I’m fact the football off season they printed more arrivals about Town. The editor is a massive FCHT supporter but you need to report the positives in Calderdale and we are one of them.

Re online courier: I contacted them a few months ago and asked why Fax did not get an equal coverage , I was told it was down to ‘man power’ and finances . They could not afford a full time RFL reporter and had to rely on 3rd party offerings.
Being some several thousand miles away I rely on the media to give me information about Fax, our own website is not much better, I get most information from being on here !

They have just secured Tom Holmes from Eagles for next year and speculation that one from pudding and podge could be released.
As long as they are not coming here (please, please, please) who cares.

It's likely the Bulls will have a new 6/7 next year so the Lilley rumour could be true.

Yep as could the Cory Aston back to Eagles with Holmes moving to Bulls and Thacks not getting any younger they will be looking to recruit in the halves.
Still speculation but some logic behind it, just wait and see.
Holmes is a class player so should be a good signing for you guys.

Holmes has signed for Bulls, is a quality player and will add something to Bradford.

Thacks is getting past it and Eagles are looking to strengthen in the halves.
Cory was at Eagles as one of his former clubs and his dad would have him back in a heartbeat, he was on loan there from us for nearly 4 months and after losing a couple of years due to covid and injury does not want to be third choice and could have asked for and been granted to be released from the remaining year of his contract and Sheffield would be a natural choice.

If and it’s only a if Cory does leave, Fax going with just 2 halves would be risking it.
There’s the logic and I did say it was speculation and that’s all it is.

Regarding Lilley coming to Fax nowhere did I say he was, the logic is against it and sincerely hope he doesn’t.
He’s reportedly on big money, would be way back in third place behind JK and LJ and his dinner suit old style of play doesn’t fit in with SG’s hard working grafter mould and we will have to wait and see.

There is no logic whatsoever in Jordan Lilley coming to Fax. He is nowhere near good enough to get anywhere near our squad.

The logic was in the possibility of Cory going back to Sheffield for the reasons I mentioned.

Answer me this, when JWH is fit who will SG pick in the halves?

If it's JK and LJ and Cory is dropped again he will clearly know where he is at the club which is third choice and we won't have to wait long to see if he's happy with that and a likely repeat of this season.
As before we will have to wait and see.

I must have misread it then and to answer your question about our halves, if Joe and Louis are fit they are certain starters, no doubt about it.

Let’s face it all this speculation has come through an unproven source. Tbh I would be disappointed if Aston left , I think he’s played well when called upon but there is logic in him leaving to play more regularly and closer to his family. As regards lilley he doesn’t really strike me has a Grix type player, he has a good kicking game and is decent from dummy half but lacks the pace of Aston , jouffret etc , he may play him has hooker/half in a joe Martin type role . I can’t really think of many players who can play multiple roles as cover in the halves and fb etc , maybe Oscar Thomas who I noticed was interacting with some Halifax posts on Twitter ( not that it means anything)

There is obviously logic behind Lilley signing. Aston is now very clear 4th choice behind our halves and you can't blame him after been unable to lock down a place in wanting to move to play regular rugby given where he is in his career. Their have been rumors that Kyle Wood may not be hear next season which leaves us in a position of needing a bench hooker and if that player happens to be able to cover in the halves then that would be a bonus as we would be down to 3 players and with Woody at FB they would all be starting so we would need some cover.

I can't say I would be too excited about Lilley signing but to be fair to Grix he has not got too many wrong so far in his short career and I wasn't too excited about Aston signing but I think its fair to say he has proved a lot of people wrong. It could also be Lilley's last chance to move to a big championship club which could be motivation for him after playing at Bradford for a while in a style of rugby that really does not suit his game.
