I asked the question when Sam came to Fev and was told that we got him on loan because fax had made him available to us and we were short on forwards but he wasn't on the list of players for next season that the coach wanted as he wasn't available at that time So unless something changes I don't see him at Fev next year not on his salary you have just confirmed he not coming back to Fax so looks like it will be Leigh Sam has said he has a few options for next year so we will see
But I cannot see them paying him what he's on now
Have fax released him as of 1 December or is there compensation for his release

Maybe his Leigh contract has a super league get out clause.

The strange thing about the timing of the announcement is that they've done it without being able to get Barlow to say how much he is looking forward to joining them etc. It's been widely touted he would end up at Leigh for a while, so why Rowley/Leigh chose to announce it yesterday and today I'm not sure. It's understandable that Barlow had decided to (or been advised to) say nothing had been decided until after Fev's last game, but why Leigh /Rowley couldn't wait until they could get Barlow on board with their announcement is puzzling. Not the best PR to announce your marquee signing when he's still telling the world he hasn't decided what he wants to do.

It just highlights the unprofessionalism or certain clubs in this league. Paul March spouting his mouth off about other clubs transfer dealings, Leigh chairman/coach announcing the signing of a player under contract at one club, on loan at another all mid-season.

If its not unprofessional its just disrespectful.

Totally bizarre announcement from Leigh, if it was meant to unsettle the Feb camp why do it after the game and not before. And no mention of the fact that he's still contracted elsewhere either.

The anti tampering deadline or whatever it's called is a nuisance. It's months since the rumour started that Thacks has signed for Dewsbury next season, most likely it's true, but no official announcement yet.

BUT, I don't think he is as good as he thinks he is.

I have defriended him before the photo actually as dont like how he looks to get a reaction and doesnt seem to show much respect to others. Its not the photo I have problems with but more what he says . Why the need to say about a Fax game "30 consecutive tackles on the line. Poor attack or great defence."

The way he posted things on FB to get a reaction and the way he knew it would cause fans from Fax to react to things he wrote was just not needed. It is very unprofessional and doesnt help when he knows Fax and Fev fans have had issues in the past. He should take a leaf out of Tony Tonks book, who is always respectful of both Fax and Fev fans and comes across as a gentleman, without the need to get a reaction.

It seems to me Sam is held in high regard by you Fax fans as a player , I think he will be a very good assest to us next season , as for the rest of this season , I think Fax will be appearing in the GF this year , hopefully against Leigh

I just keep thinking back to the Featherstone game. There we are 12-10 to the good playing up hill with 5 mins to half time and they bring Barlow on. He knocks on with first 2 carries and gives penalty away trying to smack someone. It all goes wrong after that and IMO that's when KH decides - see you later Sam.

Absolute Walter Mitty character who might be an approachable guy but thinks he is a million times better than he is. Sadly, your club only fed that monstrous ego by handing him one of the best contracts in the Championship - a contract that was way beyond what his talent warranted. As a previous poster commented, the SL rumours will be doing the rounds soon, all to attract attention and boost a thoroughly flatulent self-image.
