That's familiar mate, I've heard plenty of cry-off's myself. I noticed your 2nds were postponed too so that's a poor turnout for two teams. It's that time of the year I suppose but in Greetlands' case, they have a local cup semi final scheduled for a week on saturday so I suppose lads want to put their names into the selection process for that game. I can't understand the 3-piece-suite excuse cos DFS have an all year round sale on & the lad who took his girlfriend out, I can understand it if she's a bit of a little cracker to be honest

Pathetic turn out but to be fair it was mainly 2nd team lads available, problem now is young people dont see playing rugby as a priority on a Sat unlike my generation if they get a better offer they take it, likewise with injuries they wont play through them like we used to do, they just dont make themselves available, then we have a lot that just dont even let you know if there available or not

You made a wise decision not to go to West Leeds, we once went there with 11 players for our A team, and we really did scrape that side together. They were unbeaten at top and they were first class pillocks with us. Had 2 lads suffer serious injuries which ended their playing days. Horrible club.

I try and see a local game most weekends but, I haven't travelled very far, my main ventures are KCP, Halifax Irish, and if they are not available, once to Queensbury, once to Greetland
So I don't know what the controversary is about West Leeds.
I don't doubt our honourable members, so please let me in on it.

I think the 3 piece suite excuse must be doing the rounds, I think I told you late last season Colin that one of the KCP 1st teamers didn't turn up for that very same reason.
I know to look at me now no one would believe me but, when I played you started looking forward to the next game on a Sunday morning, check the bruise's from yesterday, declare yourself fit for a week at work and think nothing much during that week other than Saturday afternoon. No holidays during the season, I still have a very good friend who's wife dislikes me simply because I declined to be his best man, I had an important game that afternoon. I did go to the wedding, followed by pre meal drinks, but left before the meal. The Lady I was with, who could have become Mr's Halifaxjohn if she had been more understanding, hasn't spoken to me since that day.
They were good times.

That is the reason the coach binned it, i thought they should of gone but he said " them youngens will get a right pasting and we may never see them again" They used to be old Stanningley Crown team they are propa bellends, and the coach was right they would of knocked the smoke out of them 16 year olds. I may play in the game when we play you if i can borrow some pads and about 20 inhalers

Day off today for me after working too many hours at work this week, shame to waste a good day out in this weather but am chilling out and re-charging. Son No.1 is playing against Brotherton away today, wherever that is, sounds like another lot from the old Yorks leagues so i guess they'll be crackpots.

Watched a bit of KCP then strode down to watch Irish. Blimey what a game, very close with Hunslet just running out winners.
KCP won by a reasonable margin.
As I say every week Rugby League at any age or level is a very tough game.
1 criticism if I may, the clothing of the ref's bright orange shirts shorts and socks horrendous, watching the Bullsh'ters v Cas at the moment and the officials have sky blue shorts and pink shirts with sky blue squares on them. Whereas the football refs on the moor had simple black shorts and shirts. Looked far more professional.

Its a small village 3 miles from Selby and no there not crackpots, they have done very well to keep a team going all these years

Our second team lads / under 18s did the club proud, result does show the effort our lads put in, we dropped several first teamers for the semi final against Brighouse next weekend. They was the league above and were a decent outfit who should of stuck to playing the very good rugby they started with, but then tried to knock young lads heads off, when about 30 points the better.

With our normal first team, we would of beaten them.

I hear a lad turned out for Siddal in the first half of their friendley game & then went & played the second half for his other club in a pennine league cup tie on saturday. I wonder how true this story is, 'cos it came from someone connected with the club he played the 2nd half with.....

Thanks Colin and greetland8, think for me it will be Stainland V Irish, although with what I've been told about West Leeds I was thinking of going over to Littleborough to form my own opinion.
