Retaining Muzza as Captain shows we are happy with mediocrity for another season. Great guy but pulls up no trees.

If I had to choose another to lead the lads it would be Ben Kaye.

A very good choice.

If it ever happened the problem with Ben is he's not going to be on the field all the game but that may be a good thing which might get some of the other senior team members playing more of a leading roll.
I still rate Muzza though.

Murrell is a very good motivator. We would be like a rudderless ship without him, unless we could afford a genuine top class stand off, which there aren't many about. Look at Bradfords troubles in recruiting any decent half backs over the last 2 years.

Always rated Brambani. Teams he's played for always done well.

Agree re the half back and Brambani certainly (eventually) improved after his stint with us.

Can't help but think there is a good Aussie half-back needing a stint in the UK that could do a job? I like Muzza just too slow and out of shape for the job he does - if he took it seriously he could be outstanding in my opinion but he chooses a slower pace and therefore not SL. Strange choice for a sportsman but hey ho.

Who is Fax's main signing?

Grady a quality signing for next season. Im missing something with Ed Barber though, decent going forward but defence flimsier than a wet rich tea biscuit.

Whats the criteria for that?

Mr Compton. There is no money for a "main" signing.

We are a mid-table side at best next season.
Grady is a mid-table player.

Mark my words, if we have an injury crisis next year, I will just be grateful to stay in this league.

The Championship next year will be a very competitive league with HKR and Toulouse competing, I think Toulouse will be very hard to beat in France and be a good team away, HKR will be striving to finish top and teams like Bradford, Fev,Batley, Sheff ,even Dews will be hard to beat, Fax can't afford to watch the RL world go by,they must compete or be overtaken.
Grady is a big unit but not fast, a bit like Pryce from Dews,I was hoping to see a couple of experienced signings to take Fax forward next season, for Rich to do a job he needs decent tools,with the current squad he hasn't got them,pity as a strong Fax is needed in any League.

6 trys in 28 games is not good for a centre

Hooli ,why people think Grady is a quality signing is beyond me, he did nothing at Widnes which is why they released him,and did OK at Dews, but his tries to games ratio isn't good, as I said he is a big lad though.

From what I've read I thought we'd signed him as a forward who gives us a centre option. Having said that I think I'd prefer him to play 3 or 4 over a couple of our current centres.

Everything has to be viewed in perspective which in our case is who we can afford from who is available and from them who really wants to come to the club.
With the above in mind Grady comes from a good background and he had other options but chose Fax.
Maybe centre was not his best position and that's why the club see him more as a second row who can cover at centre.

He's a big lad, and we need a bit more "grunt" on the pitch with the likes of Richard Moore leaving. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be able to get any players with real pace in the backs - Rob returning apart. I thought that Potts never had a proper crack at things - he was one that did have a good turn of speed, in the Mark Preston mould.

Tbh, we need to get the spirit of 2015 back, when all the players were enthused and working for each other. We were (on the whole) so very flat this year. A team of motivated and fit players who are working as a unit can achieve an awful lot in this game...

I am banking on the smaller squad being close as a group backed up by the young lads from the reserves who can play a bit and their enthusiasm to get us some results where we fell short in 2016.
Just hope we can keep the reserve side in place.
There are a couple of sides that will start as favourites but the rest are pretty close and not only Fax are finding it tough.

Apparently according to the League Weekley , the Fax players have been asked to accept a 10% pay cut next season to avoid future cash problems,hopefully things can be sorted.
