| Who better to run the game of RL than Super League clubs? I'd hand the Treasury Dept. over to the Bradford Bulls and i'd bring back Celtic Crusaders to look after player registrations.

| Hull can look after crowd control, Salford youth development, London can provide the attendance initiatives, Huddersfield mergers and acquisitions and Castleford stadium development. What's not to like?

| These poor SL Clubs are struggling to afford 2nd rate Aussies and ex Internationals who want to finish their retirement funds by playing a couple of seasons in SL, all this after their best days too! they also can't afford to keep greedy players from going to Australia or Rugby Union, I think you're all being very judgmental and not seeing the bigger picture, they only want whats best for all of us, whats best for the game is for Saints, Wigan, Warrington and Leeds to beat Hull, Bradford, London and Salford every year and share the spoils and revenue from finals that all of RL can attend, and help make it look a sell out and very Super!, come on people, heads out of the Sand

| With no real income through a dynamic international system the domestic top clubs rule the roost, very sad and will probably get worse before it gets better. Very sad.

| Time for Championship clubs to stand tall and proud I think now the RFL is cowering in the corner....
Let's look to breakaway ourselves, get our own tv deal, sponsors and take the Challenge Cup with us!! It's a members trophy, doesn't belong to SL but the RL members, so we'd be able to outvote the SL to$$ers and leave them high and dry.
Time to take a stance in my opinion before the lower leagues are completely hung out to dry and left to wither and die. We're halfway there already sadly and we wonder why crowds are going down across the game....
Never has a product been so removed from the consumer... RL is on its haunches and needs CPR quickly

| Looks like the game really is on the cusp of implosion if this escalates into a SL clubs v RFL war. The game as a whole has to be the most important in all this and not the current whim of those in power at the very top either in SL club world or the RFL.
These people should never lose sight of the fact that this game was created for the enjoyment of all that play/have played it and watch it and are yet to play and watch it,and not for the elite.
With no main sponsor, clubs at elite level going bust, star players leaving for union and the Australian dollar, falling attendances, diminishing column inches and tv exposure and general apathy, it's probably time for a revolution of some sort but that MUST include all stakeholders not just those at the top!!!!
Let's get back to Rugby League a family game!

| Chris, im right on side with the breakaway thing, if it brings it all to a head and Leeds and Wigan think paying Football players wages is right for them then so be it. Championship Chairmen and the RFL need to show some balls and call their bluff, if these SL Chairmen think they can manage alone, good luck to them. Well see about letting them back in 5 years when it goes tats up.

| I'm not sure where I stand on this, lots of people have voiced many opinions on Wood & Rimmer in the past and now everybody seems to be supporting them.
One of the things the SL clubs are saying they want is representation on the RFL board, this could be a good thing, there should also be Championship representation and community as well.
The current board have been unable to get a sponsor for SL so maybe the clubs would have a greater incentive to pull some money in.
What I would n't want is for them to close shop and this would be their biggest mistake, they need P&R brought back as in the long term the whole game would not be viable without it.
This may be way to get rid of Wood once and for all and I'm sure that many people would be glad if that happened.

| Norman, that's a fair point on people suddenly favouring the RFL in this fight, I guess its the timing and the fact its an EGM on restructuring that's kicked it all off. Timing is everything here I feel, turkeys voting for Xmas etc Noboby would be surprised if SL clubs wanted to maintain status quo (or any other rock band) and keep their slice of the pie or want more. Business is business, these may be philanthropists, they may also be displaying sociopathic tendancies.

| It's probably more to do with not favouring what some SL clubs have done which is motivated by greed.
SL is going to 12 clubs and the money that is saved from the 2 that miss out was going to be distributed across the divisions now the SL clubs want it all for themselves.
It's amazing that very little was said against the RFL from the SL clubs involved until the world cup was about to start and the vote for the new proposals was imminent.
The timing was premeditated to cause the maximum impact so as to get their own way.

| Again - nothing wrong with worthy SL clubs taking a stand but it boils my pi55 that there are clubs in there that are a downright disgrace - that have effectively brought the game into disrepute with their financial mismanagement. Yet they are still there. They will be voting on various things which will favour members of that elite club, including themsves whilst abandoning clubs that are run better than them in a far harsher environment.

There is another cup we can take back as well , the one the RFL gave away to Wigan when Super League started just because they won it 3 times what a load of tosh , lets have it back.

Yes, it'll be easy to get a sponsor for what will in effect be a competition of second rate clubs. No Sky money, no Government money either.
Come on - who are we kidding here ? Championship chairmen are smarter than that. There'll be no breakaway.

As I said the timing was premeditated to cause the maximum disruption, the next will be a rift in the game as the greed of some SL clubs becomes apparent and they will want more and more control of the game only aimed at their own competiton.
Even within SL there will be back stabbing as the "big" clubs fight it out for control and it will end up with a "UN" type situation where you have 4 permanent members that can vito everything that doesn't sit with their own clubs agenda.
That will lead to the comp going to 10 clubs with Toulouse one of the 10 meaning 3 more current clubs will drop out and the same thing will happen to the money, the remaining 10 will divide it amongst themselves.
Once they have control it will be like a monoply grip on the sport and it will be game over for the rest as they will never vote for the well being of anything not their own.
They talk about the threat to the game from the NRL and Union, the biggest threat is from within the ranks of the selfish SL clubs and we now clearly know who they are.
Since the bulk of the funding in this country comes from SKY monies to Super League they have us all by the short and curlies and they know it.

If there is it will be by the SL clubs.
The Championship clubs should now be getting there heads together to make as much noise about this as possible even if only to try and show the big boys that they are bringing the game further into disrepute when it's on it's knees allready.
At least try put some pressure small as it maybe to make a stand.
Apart from the Championship clubs.
What some of the current SL clubs need to think about is what they vote for or go along with today it could well apply to them in a couple of years time when they get the boot when SL runs out of money again and it goes to a ten club SL comp.
