Probably was, but you haven't answered the point, how do they survive. Average gates of 2200 probably keep a club alive, they can cater for 1200 (your point) so how does a club like Sheffield survive on gates of 900 reduced to 722?

Well the answer is obviously through sponsorship and their directors. Much like ours.

Poor crowd today, expected a few more to be honest but we always get smaller attendances when it's not a season ticket game. Crowds are up (on average) this year from last, we've broken 1200 for the season average so at least it's going in the right direction.

Was actually surprised to only see 1200 at Fax on Thursday. See you all next Sunday.

It's not that many. They beat us in the Trains QF. League games though, they haven't beaten us since 2001 or summat. Three or four seasons where we were in different divisions in that spell.

Griff what confuses many is how you hit £800k turnover with 13000 fans per annum, some of whom don't pay. At best that would be £130k income, and with the best will in the world its hard to see £550k sponsorship/lottery at this level. (£100k RFL funding for all)

The rumours flying around are that you get substantially more from the RFL than others outside SL, including Fev. Being aware of your involvement do you know how much you get from RFL directly or otherwise.

We don't get any more than anyone else from the RFL.

Whatever the funding, whatever the attendances - Sheffield on the pitch are a serious match for any club. GF last year and on the way this year. Beware of the Seagull - you have to admire their positioning in this league.

A little birdy told me he doesn't like the shirt & tie business but has to do it at the home games to address sponsors, diners etc.
