Whilst there may be players with an axe to grind with MC, pleae don't kid yourself that Judas Gene has any credibility in that argument. I don;t care what he achieved elsewhere - what he did at Fax was unforgiveable.

Here we go again GFB. Having a go at our BOD when you clearly don't know the facts. I'd love to tell you the story about Stanley Gene but can't for confidentiality reasons.
I can say that in my opinion the club was shafted by Mr Gene, Mr Howes his agent and the RFL(suprise suprise).
Stanley may have done wonders at other clubs but he let our club down badly and in a very mercianary way.

One day the Messiah will be sat behind that big oak desk, dispensing his vast knowledge of club rugby to all the staff at the club.

Put your dummy back in lad. Ive not really had a go at the BOD in my posts in this thread have i? Saying the board agreed to pay him what he wanted isnt really having a go is it? A tongue in cheek remark about Mike been a bit of a gossip isnt really having a go is it? Not like it isnt true is it. The other remark isnt even about the clubs current BOD but you know that already dont you.



You can see the irony in the clubs Lottery manager(Just to confirm thats right isnt it?) mentioning about confidentiality and things that you would assume you should know little about.

No really. I genuinely believe that this guy has the talent for it. You can read it in his posts. He is born for the job.

The RFL have finally caught up with him after the infamous scenes in Wigan in 2002. He's currently serving a ban from Rugby with Des from Barrow.

Didn't he have a falling out with a director? The courier said he left his post to "concentrate on his business".

Ian (yob) lost his mortgage business sadly and moved away from Halifax. His partner lived in Hartlepool which is where I believe he now lives. All I know us that there was a differing of opinions at board level regarding certain things and left the BOD.

He's definitely in the land of Monkey Hangers.

Thanks for the kind words Chris, but I didn't lose the Mortgage Business, but more, shut it down - before it collapsed!

A long story, but basically, after surviving having the best part of £200k pilfered by a couple of trusted staff and then being left without telephone lines in my offices for over 3 months by 2 rogue telecoms companies, I decided to wind down the business in the difficult climate we were in and didn't have the energy to fight them all.

I started working from home, but was spending more time giving free Debt Advice helping a Debt Charity, than helping clients get decent mortgages.

Trying to get people a decent rate was impossible and I've never ripped anybody off in my life, so wouldn't just "Sell" a mortgage to make a living, so decided to have a change of life.

No more stress, no more bills, live by the sea (haha) and enjoying life a little slower, but still helping people to make money and save money, which is what I do best.

Incidentally, I didn't leave the board because of any disagreement with anybody, let alone a board member. Though I was upset at the way my Sponsorships were being given away without any consultation.

I truly left because I actually could see what was coming with the economy and knew I'd need to spend more time helping my clients and so had to give up.

I enjoyed my time on the board, even if there were differences of opinion.

There is something odd about Halifax RLFC though, in that it seems that any Director who leaves suddenly becomes the Anti Christ and should be avoided at all cost! Those same people who have plowed thousands of pounds of their own money and many sleepless nights trying to help it out. The fans see their loyalty and value, but unfortunately the club seems to resent anybody leaving, for whatever their reason.

I'm still, and always will be, a Fax fan and you'll see me at a game now and again, even if it's when Fax next play Gateshead lol. But I've got some exciting (for me) things in the pipeline that I'm hoping I may be able to bring to Fax and other clubs some time soon, so watch this space

How nice to hear from you Yob and glad you still keep an eye on us all, you are sadly missed around here by me especially you did try to make a differance in the way things were done and for that you have to be commended.
It can`t be easy for anyone takeing on the job of a rugby club director and I do believe when you first took up the reigns I predicted almost to the day how long you would be in situ`.
One things for sure nothing was ever dull when you were around either and I am glad you are doing well.You will have to pop back to a match sometime and catch up on old times , oh and thanks for the ""blanket invite" for us all to come up for a visit I am takeing names for the coach now and my case is packed.
