How happy is everyone with the developments for 2020 so far?

With Matt Garside likely to be announced Monday we’ll have made the following additions:

Paul Brearley (Second row)
Keegan Hirst (Permanent) (Prop)
Jodie Broughton (Winger)
Tom Gilmore (Half back)
Scott Grix (Permanent) (Utility back)
Matt Garside (Second row)

What other areas do people want to see strengthened?

A Big Strong Centre but there arnt too many about

Fullback, centre and prop for me. Weve probably done the best that we could considering the mess of last season.Its going to take at least a couple of years to recover.

Why would it? Fev didn't have a coach or team at the start of this season.

Surely you don't want us to use 5 DR players every game, Hudd-Shay?

Is Grix a permanent? Not sure the value if we have signed him. Good for a season.

Ball playing centre but they seem to be a few and far between. Think Tyrer has improved in that regard but we haven't had a dynamic ball player since Nash.

Really can't abide Fev. Any success they have with DR is short- term. Hope they avoid the embarrassment next season of using 20+ players through DR / Loan.

As people who know me know that I really dislike DR, but to be honest where I’m sat in Toulouse, it is anything but embarrassing.

Regardless of DR and how Rovers go against Toronto, Fev were my pick for team of the year even before they beat Toulouse.

Stupid question from me if Fev were to do the impossible next week how many teams will be queuing up to DR with Leeds? Batley, Dewsbury and dare I say Fax? If that was to happen will Fax have sold their soul?

On the subject of re-signings Im not sure the logic in keeping Fleming. There has to be a young lad about who we can pay less and who offers more on the field?

We all start on zero points FG and as you know DR is just one of the many variables that can work for you or against you and it’s not THE reason for Fev’s good season.
Here’s a question.
What would happen should Toronto win the million pound game but be rejected by the SL clubs for failing due diligence checks, would Fev go up instead?

Well in that case Fev have certainly peaked at the right time and are as ready as they’ll ever be so just go and win it.
Although the old adage of concentrate on your own game will be the word from Brian Mac I suspect they would have preferred Toulouse.

Okay on the question of would the RFL allow Leeds and Fev in SL at the same time, basically, yes because they are just as much stand alone clubs as anyone else is including DR.
Why would they be thought of being any different?

Surely you can see the conflict of interest there? They aren't even trying to hide it. Watch Rugby League Back Chat, Fev chairman and coach are quite open about it.

Of course but that wasn’t the question and as long as it’s part of the game it will be a one of the cards that everyone will draw from the pack to try and win the game being played at this moment in time.

Winning and success being the name of the game.

Not drawing the card and increasing the chances of losing is a bigger conflict of interest in other people’s eyes in their opinion.
