I heard you had a game already cancelled due to pitch conditions hence why I was asking. I thought you'd be talking about this game with 5 days to go. I'm predict a close match with the Leythers coming away victorious 32-22.

There is a pitch inspection at The Shay tomorrow morning regarding Sundays match

This is total bollox,the pitch is fine and inspecting friday
for sunday achieves nothing.Someone doesn't want to play
or we aren't allowed to...

Not 100% certain on this as people talking to me have been very cagey... It would appear that the council have or are playing hard ball regarding our unpaid rent going back 16 months. Be interesting to see if Sundays games gets "called off"...!!?? If it goes ahead it would appear to be getting sorted or not as much if an issue as first thought. BUT If we're postponed there might be some truth in us being skint..... Something I've feared for a while. Let's see first what happens....

Every game in an outdoor stadium does... Rumours and rumblings have been rife for ages and the postponement would add to the rumour mill. The fact that people usually quick to deny and/or confirm rumours who I trust are being rather cagey. It may mean they simply don't know anything but as a follower of Fax for 30+ Years there is no smoke without fire and the skint / rent money issue has been around for some time now. For a club with SL ambition and pushing for a top 2 place, the recruitment hasn't set me alight but the team that won us a Challenge Cup and Div. 1 title wasn't exactly the most expensive side put together. However we have to appear ambitious by saying the right things but my head tells me we are 4th/5th at best. So I'm hoping and praying I'm proven wrong.

Well if the game goes ahead Im going to go for Fax 30 Leigh 20. Leigh have underperformed against two poor Warrington and Wigan teams and I feel will flatter to deceive all season. Im half expecting if they look like not making the top 2 to be a quick clear out of players mid season, Ive been known to be wrong though.

to be honest I'd like to hear something from the board but perhaps they feel it is beneath them to respond to rumours, who knows.
But, if the council stop the game because of monies owed then surely that is stopping Fax from raising funds to pay that rumoured debt.
Who knows but I know I just want to watch a bloody game of rugby, not use about the result but it should be a good close game.

We will be without Adamson, Manning and possibly Murrell due to nearly severing toes, fighting and injury.

So there's my first excuse list if we get hammered.



There's heavy rain forcast for Saturday, can we not play it at Leigh if it's in doubt apart form the importance of getting some game time it's my favourite away Championship ground.

If it is down to lack of finances then I sincerely hope you manage to get back on track. Rugby league need a strong Halifax & the championship certainly need a strong Fax.

Why do people try and stir rumours up?! The game may be off due to weather but there is no way we are hard strapped and banned from playing at the shay!

We haven't paid any rent for over year. There's a strong suggestion we haven't paid caterers. We are working with the council on rent arrears. Mr Abbott has gone very quiet.
