No doubt we will get screwed over again and they can go over the salary cap and not lose points?

The RFL are still pondering their decision. 6 points is the rumour but their are other rumours that sanctions may be more severe. Which means no points deducted from Barrow but 25 deducted from fax for sour grapes.

Although it's more likely that Barrow are allowed time to appeal and that time has not yet passed.

Thats what I understand the delay is, though the RFL are such a joke why don't they take the points off now, and maybe give them back sometime next year?

Surely you mean take the points of them now and then give them double,a parachute payment and a guaranteed licence

Gareth Walker has just tweeted that the RFL have confirmed the 6pt deduction for Salary Cap breaches in 2010, as well as a further 6pts suspended til the end of the 2012 season.

One hell of a breach for effectively having a 12 point deduction, but you can guarantee they will have to be careful now not to invoke the second set of six points.

I'd imagine any breach this season (once the books are checked next year) will mean they'll get another 6 + this 6

It would cover any breaches next season as well.

For all the anti-bonus point brigade, just take not of Halifax & Barrow's current tally. If it wasn't available, the top six would now be almost finalised.....

At least it wasn't as bad a punishment as Melbourne last year. Although Barrow were handed the maximum penalty for such a breach.

I think after Sheffield used it to their advantage in it's first year, teams have started to take more notice of it and it does make a lot of difference at the end of the season.

In essence, it makes a difference in each & every league fixture, that's why I'm a fan of it.

The thing that teams should remember is they can turn 3 defeats into 1 win and 2 defeats if they pick up a bonus point in each loss.

I'm not a fan of it, but the league would look the same without it. Barrow would have been on 14 points, the same as us, without the deduction.

But a true reflection instead of the manufactured nonsense. It can't be any good no other league uses it.

People concentrate on the point you get for losing but you also get an extra point for winning and drawing. If no game was won or lost by more than 12, the league positions would be the same and we'd all have 20 more points than the old 2-1-0 system.

The only teams who lose out are the teams who lose by more than 12.

I think you're kidding yourself here. You make it sound like Sheffield had a deliberate plan to lose by less than 12 whereas other clubs thought, "Oh we've lost here, may as well make it a big one".

I think you're reading things that don't exist. All I mean is Sheffield made sure they played the 80 minutes abd kept themselves in games. Therefore getting a bonus even in a losing effort.
