| Which nutters (On or Off the field) do you remember who have played for Fax in some way? Joe "Smokin" Kilroy, Geoff "Wildman" Robinson, Paul Bishop, Jimmy Irvine, Paul Round, Brendan Hill, Dave Watson, Eddie Riddlesden (Think he is currently serving time for Drugs and Robbery), Peter Brown, Paul Davidson are some of the Nutters on and off the field that I have seen in the Fax Colours

| For those of us who are uneducated on these souls you mention, how about explaining why they are 'nutters'. What did they do to earn such an accolade in your view?

| Remember Johnny Lawless telling us about the first time he met that Mcdougal brother(at least i think it was him) in the gym. Johnny said hello to him and first reply he got back was "F*** Off". Apparently a very strange bloke.
Was it Narynx(spelling escapes me) whos first contribution to the Fax cause was to pee on the Jumping Jaks bar?

| Yes James certainly cuts an imposing figure outside of the game and is not someone i would want to cross.
For me the legend that is Brendan Hill must also be something that doesn't come round very often. not what i would call a nutter, just a freakishly powerful man who only an idiot wouldnt show any respect to.
I think Hardest Fax player would be a good one. Im sure people who vote for the wildman, but Brendan would be without any doubt the most powerful fax player.
Most intelligent Fax player anyone?

| George Standidge was a fiery red-headed prop who was well feared on the pitch, he was great to watch.
Tony Garforth was another prop who could dish it out a bit.

Well Ken Roberts went on to have and still does have, a very successful business empire and Oli Marns is now a Solicitor. Both must have something upstairs.

Yes George was an absolute legend in his short time at Thrum Hall. I spent a few hours chatting with him in the bar at the Weavers when he was the matchday guest. An absolutely top bloke.
I remember him getting sent off at an away match, think it was at Fev but I could be wrong. I asked him if there was any truth in the rumour that he pulled the home team changing room door off its hinges in an attempt to get to the bloke that got him sent off. He replied there was no truth whatsoever in it. He did not pull the door off its hinges. It was a sliding door, pulled it off its runners was his reply.

| Also remember Ken Isaacs playing for Fax. A very short temper, would throw punches for fun and for no apparent reason.
Cleverest player is a good one, Chris Anderson must be up there, to take the side he had to win the League and Challenge cup he must of had a pretty good rugby brain.
Ken Loxton was probably the best we had in the early 80's. Very underated player

| Remember Paul Langmack, didn't he come to blows with David Hobbs (may be corrected on this) but i think it was hobbs that knutted Langmack resulting in Hobbs having to go off with a badly cut head and Langmack playing on without any problems.
And lets not forget Lindsay Johnson, That punch on the Wigan player, can't remember his name think it was the hooker, in the Regal trophy final was ace. I can remember a wigan fan who came and stood by us at half time saying he heard his(wigan player) nose crunch from the stands.

Pound for pound, George was a real tuff nut, he went into the crowd at Cardiff Dragons once to sort someone out.
As for "nutter" .... I think you have to be nuts anyway to play RL, but I suppose you're looking for some who were/is that bit harder than the average player. Can't disagree with names already metioned, the stand out for me was Dave Watson who for his size held absolutely no fear of anyone. Others I can add are Freddie (in his prime!)and Cavill Heugh. And dare I say it, when Andy Hobson first burst onto the scene I thought he was the real deal!!
Most intelligent? Off the field wise - Mark Preston. RL wise - the already named Michael Hagan, Wayne Parker, Greg Florimo, Chris Anderson, Gavin Clinch, John Pendlebury. I'm sure there's many more!

Yep, Bob Arnold. Thought he was jumping over a wall but soon found out it was a bridge
He's still involved in the game ------ sort of. On the Gold Coast leg of the World Cup tour 2008, residents and former players, Graham Eadie, Bob Arnold and Keith Neller were tour guides

| Terry Langton for me.
The term 'nuggety' doesnt do him justice. A smart player who used to get targetted by the big props, yet still come back for more. Smashing bloke too, but his head looked like it had been chewed after games.
The only time I can remember somebody getting the better of him was when a young Andy Gregory broke his cheekbone over at Widnes. Terry was playing him off the park so in typical Widnes style they took him out. I suppose he should have been happy not to be knee-capped in that delightful part of the world.

He played for Batley in a reserve match in 2008 and got red carded for headbutting, then played in their first team the week after when he got a right haul of points.

Big Roy was brilliant as after dinner speaker at Elland Cricket club last night, one of the funniest speakers I've ever heard. He was on the same bill as Lea Roberts who was as usual, brilliant at the fund raiser dinner that Alan Kellett used to organise.
