With the versatiity of the team, this would allow a number of options with Beswick covering loose, Shad covering backs and Penky back to where he is at his most destructive running from dummy half.

Will have to see how he goes should do well having made 14 super league appeances.

My initial response to this is: not convinced. Never really done it for me, not overly exciting and fast and never really proven himself, step backwards in my opinion. Anyway, I suppose he is only here to act as cover, and we'll see how he goes. Hope he proves me wrong!

Welcome Tom, good to see young lads given opportunity at Fax, like Flanagan and co last year.

Good move for me as Govin is out for a minimum for 6 weeks and this means that we have cover at 6. It also means Tom has to prove himself to get in and so adds competition and a fresh face brings something maybe new in to the squad. Has SL experience so should be a decent player.
Would rather us sign a Prop or a Back as feel James will go back to Bradford soon especially as Solomona is out for most of the season and still no good news on Goddard.

I can't believe that people are questioning the judgement of Matt and Martin. They don't seem to have done too bad in their decision making so far

But everybody is entitled to their opinion.

I am sure the guy will give us cover for Govin, its a stand off we need and hopefully this guy can cover that role.

Just not quite doing it for us. If your coaches can 'press the right buttons' he is capable of doing an excellent job for you and he will kick teams to death.

If he's a good tactical kicker I think that is exactly what we need this year. Someone to get you out of trouble and turn the other team round. We have lacked this since Holroyd left and it's essential in the big games.

We were linked with him during the off season. Though he was in need of a shoulder op and was asking for a fair wedge. Probably why he wound up staying at Hudds.

Good cover for Govin, but with Mick's form this season I think he'll be back in the team when fit.

We need a bit of depth anyway at the moment. So a good signing if only for that reason.

It gives beswick, gleeson and penky a break which they haven't had since govin went down.

I dont htink we've missed Holy that much this year. Ben's kicking game has improved 100% from his previous stint with us & he seems to be pretty good at the 40/20's, something Holy didnt really do much.
