| I am genuinely sorry to see this and amazed.....it has taken so long.
Another success for the RFL
A club statement read: "London Broncos Rugby League Club have today instructed lawyers to file a Notice of Intention to appoint administrators over the club.
"This will allow 10 working days for the club to work with the Rugby Football League and other parties to resolve secure the club's future and will prevent any creditor from taking action against the club in this period.
"There will be no further comment at this time."

| Just a shame RFL have wasted millions £'s over the years supporting an initially Aussie dominated club whose players took the money and left, then propped it up when other administration orders took place, ringfenced them from relegation, to see it come to this.
That's two beacon clubs of the SL franchise gone down the tubes now in Bulls and Bronco's!!!!! Groundhog day!!!!!
The one thing that has been good is the junior club development in London and the RFL should ringfence that as future building blocks. Demote the Broncos to bottom league and let them start again. If the professional game is strong enough in London -as the RFL would have us believe- then let them prove it!
13 team SL next season with only one relegated then!
The World cup has been great but unfortunately its only papering over the cracks of our domestic game.
I look forward to this soap opera between the RFL and SL continuing............!

| Licensing system has no mechanism whatsoever for failed clubs. Wakefield, Salford, Bradford, London and Celtic all ruined. 35% of SL clubs smashed their licence criteria to pieces. Only one club made an exit from SL. Remaining failures kept their license. At the same time, the RFL barred clubs from outside SL from entering this "elite" band of clubs who get to share £60m of Sky's money.
Marvellous system.

| Why am I smelling something here where the RFL allow a 'new club' to be born and come out all healthy and clear of debt the other side and they start again with this obsession of a SL club in London when it sadly won't ever work?
Why don't they start again with a new club in Championship 1 and see if they can grow roots and evolve that way?

| Ah but Rich, don't forget those areas if the game it was gonna improve:
Geographical spread
Financial management
Marketing
Crowds
Stadia and facilities
Youth development
You can't say that not one club hasnt improved in all these areas. A roaring success. Especially crusaders, the club the whole sorry process was invented for!

It was the Catalans that 1 st prompted the usage of a non relegating sustem, and to be fair to them, they are the 1 success of recent years as regards overall development, just a shame France as an International force havent improved as a result of that success

Exactly has it improved the French and Welsh national teams, NO.
They have gone backwards in this tournament much to my surprise, I honestly thought it would be the other way round but it aint.

I dont disagree, but how far back do we go, and at that time just how much did Hunslet and Dewsbury actually want SL?
' Tinpot ' ? I'll not disagree on that either, although in many cases the clubs themselves dont help themselves

Littlerich says it all here. I thought the whole idea (or at least one of them) was to prevent this happening?
Further embarrassment for the sport!

I don't see many of the London amateurs "aspiring" to London Broncos or they might have gone to watch them now and again.

Wood getting binned I can live with but if he is replaced by IL and the rest of his mafiosi the game is stuffed.

| It appears to me that most sports create tensions between the governing body and the clubs. Soccer, rugby union and cricket have all had major disputes in the last twelve months.
In the case of other sports the disputes centre around the allocation of the cash secured for TV rights or the release of players for international duty (which is also really about cash as player unavaialability effects club rewards). These are often referenced in the press as "Power battles"
The establishment of Super League had its origins in exactly the same debate, "how can we get most cash and who gets it".
All of these sports also have the same financial consequences, some clubs survive on generated revenues, some require financial support from individuals/groups and flurish, some require support from individuals/groups and struggle or even fail.
Rugby League has reached a stage now where the are a minimal number of clubs surviving on generated revenue and, perhaps more importantly, a declining number of individuals/groups willing to inject cash
The only solution is less teams, something I wouldn't wish to see, or clubs to reduce costs to sustainable levels with strictly enforced Finacial criteria. The RFL never did this as they didn't monitor the clubs properly. I lay the blame for this 100% at the unwillingness of The RFL to take on this problem.
I hope London survive as a club, but fans of all clubs have to recognise that to get to the top of the highest level withough independent support you need home gates averaging above 10,000. Below this and you need benefactors to match the gap or to reduce costs and consequently except a lower league position EVERY year. As with every sport league position in general (give or take a place or two) requires a bedrock of funding. Fans want their club to succeed, I want Fax and featherstone to be at the top table but at the moment the game needs to resolve its structural issues, and enforce its rules as a priority.

| It was always going to happen.
RL in London has been tried, tested and failed, year after year and I can imagine RFL saving them and carrying on that trend.
If London do go out of SL, I can see Toulouse getting into in, or a welsh team.
Halifax, Fev or a cumbria team must surely be the best thing to do?

| If London can't start the 2014 season they should go with 13 teams and only relegate one team next year. There is no fair way to promote a Championship team under the present system and, at such short notice, no team could even hope to raise a team capable of competing.

Think you are wrong there mate. Toulouse ? A Welsh team which one I wonder.
Re Fax Ski slope Fev or a Cumbrian team' please
London will be at Barnet FC next season and will be replaced by a team from the Championship the season after. I know which club it is too.
