| Surprised nobody has brought this up but why fence off the two end sections of the South Stand because there are not enough fans to use all the stand???
I could not stand where I have stood for years, why???
Is it Health & Safety gone mad, lots of grounds are half empty and don't use the whole stand or terracing yet they don't block areas off its bloody stupid and it looks crap.
Don't tell me it is to save on the number of stewards? This is RL and we don't need all the stewards that we have and again many other grounds hardly have any so why do we over do it at the Shay?

It's a costcutting measure implemented by skinflint football chairman Bosomworth. It saves stewards wages...tonights game at shay is east stand only for home fans to manys disgust.

Does it have to apply to Fax's games tho Ian?
Will away fans be allowed in the East Stand as well?

I would imagine it's up to fax directors whether they open the full south stand or not.Personally i'm fine with the restiction it's when they shut the south completely i have an issue..normally away fans are housed at the hunger hill side of the east but tonight chester have been given the skircoat as they are bringing 250+.

| The football posts were put in part of the South Stand when normally they are over by the old scoreboard. Not sure why.

| Probably just put there as it was empty and they're out of the way of the playing area.

Probably less time than it took to tape off the de-militarised zone.

| Yes, Mrs LTD and I always stand in that section and were most upset we couldn't stand at the same spot that has our names put on the barrier beam. I have written to the Council and they have insisted until we pay all the rent we owe then we can only use part of the South Stand and not all of it.

Are they going to make the area we can stand in smaller each week?
And can Town not use the stand because they owe even more than we do?
You can find the answer to this and other irrelevant questions in next weeks episode of Bubba's soap on a dope.

| According to one of the stewards both clubs agreed with the restrictions and it will save money but it was a request/suggestion from the Council and they do employ the stewards

| Has anyone from the club got any further information regarding the south stand part being closed due to the goal posts. I was behind the posts at the Batley game and if it's to save money on stewards it's ridiculous. They pen the area off and then allowed the batley fans to stand on the steps preventing anyone getting up or down. Serious health and safety issue, results aside as well, I am not enjoying the experience as much by not being able to stand with the same people I have for 8 years or so. I seriously hope it won't be the same all year.
Any confirmed information would be appreciated.

| It's nothing to do with the goalposts,it's a cost cutting excersize the FCHT chairman instigated. It seems like the rugby club have followed the lead unless the council insisted ? it does seem a permanent move. The two clubs have big games coming up Leigh/Nantwich,if it's not opened for these it would suggest
permancy.

| It's a bloody disgrace is what it is. I've paid good money to get a season ticket and be able to stand where I want, after I've handed my cash over it turns out I can't stand where I've done for years.
It's an amaturish set up, are we really that hard up that we have to risk annoying regular fans to save £100 a game? The results on the pitch are enough of a reason to stop fans coming, it doesn't require additional effort from our BOD.

Your quite right Binboy, a "bloody disgrace" as you say.
Of course as our resident double supporter Mr T Hall has quite rightly and fairly pointed out it was Mr Ample Bosomworth, your chairman who requested this decision.
I suspect that as cost saving exercise it does save Fax £100, two stewards, but, think about it logically it's saving your football club probably in excess of £1000 pounds for a smaller crowd plus a fortune in hay for all those police horses.
Now may I respectfully request that you give us all a break, next thing you will be speaking in pseudo Yorkshire dialect which will only encourage Cokey to return like he did when his mate Jagger (not Charlie) was on.
With respect as always of course.

Your right I am a nasty piece of work, what did your alter ego call you? Hokey was it?
Just sick of your stupid digs,
Check one out a few days ago, you said,
etc etc.
And that was it.
My last word, back on thread.
As an East Stand person I have to say the atmosphere from the South Stand seemed louder recently since the "corralling"

| I have no idea what half of that message was about John.
I choose to sit in the seats at football but stand at rugby as the young un prefers that. Do you not think it should have been mentioned that almost half the stand would be closed before the club sold me a season ticket to stand in it?

| I'm not why the restrictions are in place, a statement from the BOD would be nice but I do think that the atmosphere has improved since it happened. I also understand that people want to stand where they like, within reason, so we need to be made aware of the logic behind the move.
In terms of elf and safety it was a joke how many people were allowed to stand on the passageway when previously they would have been moved away.
Financially does it save us much money, it might add up to a £1000 a season, who knows?

| personally i have no issue with the wings being closed in south stand.Under normal circumstances the standing area left is more than adequate.I do have an issue when the south stand is totally shut and you're forced to sit.Fortunately i can only remember this happening once at rugby--Myton if i remember correctly.
