We're not going to go the rest of the season unbeaten. I reckon we'll throw away another two or three games. Just no killer instinct. You can't expect to finish second when you can't hold a 22-8 lead.

After saying Turley was one of the better refs I have to say he was poor today. He was almost as poor as our second half tactics. We did everything right for sixty minutes then went to pot. Also yet again a last minute score has done us.Very dissapointing! Richard Oastlar, Brighouse. Elland Beyond the Pale 4.2% Mmm!

The number of games we could have won in last 5 mins is staggering. That's the difference between success and failure. Just a teeeensy weeeensy bit more luck/effort and we'd be......

Ah well.

Game management in the last 30 mins was appalling, and by our senior players as well. A few better decisions and we would have won that game at a canter.

Like littlerich says, there isnt much in it when it comes to where we are and where we could be but the fact is we simply cant afford to slip up against the lesser teams in the league especially with Donny and Fev still to play. On that note I think with their run in Donny must now be favorites to grab 2nd place.

Maybe I should go on game strike again, thought we were great until Luke went off and then we lacked his leadership. Also thought we missed true centres playing today especially with Robbo switching back into the pack in the last quarter of the game. Donny still play us, Sheffield and Workington plus the likes of Keighley and Batley who are all battling for points. We threw that game away today but Turdley was a levelled with that penalty count. Don't understand why we got penalised for holding down etc yet Batley weren't.....? Ummmm

Another classic snatching of near defeat from the jaws of victory! Thank goodness he missed that touchline conversion ! I agree with earlier post that our game management and execution was not up to scratch and that we can't kill a game off unfortunately. By my reckoning we now have to beat Fev and not let them get a bonus point as well as beating Donny at Donny. I think we have probably just left ourselves a little too much to do now. Congrats to Donny on beating a Leigh side who I did think might go undefeated all season. Good to see plenty Blue & White there today.

agree re: centres. the number of times robbo got on the outside but lacked the pace to go through the gap. could've been four scores up

I can see why the centres were left the same but again Murrell at stand off does not really work that well and also is a waste keeping Johnson on the bench for most of the game.

Another thing as well is that we look so much better with Holden on the pitch as its like slow-mo with Kaye at acting half and it was no surprise that we picked up in the first half with Holden on the pitch and dropped off in the second half when he was replaced.

Your game against Fev should be a Cracker , I would love to see it , and I agree it is a MUST win for Fax , lose the game and its Goodnight Irene to second spot , though Donny are quietly moving into position to strike , all in all a great end to the Season .

First half played well and got the ball moving when we could, first class goal line defence by Batley kept us down to just the 1 score.

The hard work seemed to have paid off when we opened up and took that lead.
Sadly a step backwards in composure and tactics when in mattered.

We just lost the plot starting with the kick out on the full and the constant lets keep giving the ball away cheaply as if saying to Batley.

"Come on score against us again" and they are good enough to punish us, bulldogs by name and bulldogs by nature.

Poor kicking game and marker defence non existent again at times, the yards conceded with runs from dummy half were significant.

In the end we were fortunate to come away with 2 points through daft play and the Dogs showing how to play for 80 minutes again.

This might be just the slap we need to get us focussed again.

Turley, well bizarre with the calls for both sides, both sides after all that effort deserve better.

Ref blaming again when the team surrender a lead is a current theme this season reading the messageboard. Had Fax won, the "ref" word would be used less frequent in posters' comments i'm convinced.
I'm still not convinced into returning to sunday afternoon game-watching, my end-of-season run-in is still looking like this:
Probably turn up for the Fev game for a drink with some friends & a bit of banter.
Probably turn up for a play-off game.
Probably turn up at Headingley when Fax get to the final 'cos 1st & 2nd spot finishers in the table ease off 'cos they'll have just got paid massive bonuses for their season long efforts.

I'm probably mis-reading everything though & am wrong on all counts but in all honesty, i'm not missing the buzz of sunday afternoon rugby league at all, i don't even listen on the radio anymore.

One thing I do not get MM is if you are not missing it why it seems you feel the need to come on here and either justify not going or making a point that you are not going?

Agree with most that the turning point was the kick out on the full but, much as I detest criticising referees, I feel Turley sympathised with Batley at 22-8 and piggy backed them up field with a couple of harsh and very dubious penalty decisions.
No excuses though, Batley finished much stronger and it was a relief to come away with a share of the spoils.

What day , Date and ko time is the Fev game ?I would love to watch this game as it is so important and should be a cracker .

What size bus would you like ?
Aren't there already enough busses parked opposite the stadium in the depot ?
Will there be crowd segregation on the stated date or is all of that stuff considered "in the past & forgotten about now" considering who the opposition are ?
Is there sufficient parking space for the said bus, considering other clubs' supporters have mentioned this topic in recent years ?
Should i stay for the full duration of 80 minutes or leave earlier in the hope of seeing a home win, let's say at around the 75 minutes mark ?
