The state of the pitch caused by the weather was the reason for no game today at the Shay for Fax.

The rest is just guess work and conjecture.

If we are skint then it makes no sense what has been happening at the club involving senior managment and the coaching staff.

TA being interviewed in last weeks RL press stated concerning Halifax. Quote. "He was in it for the long run".

Also why would Karl Harrison sell his interests in what was described as a successfull Kitchen and Bathroom buisness to devote all his energies on coaching Fax.

Surely he would know if the club had any real finacial worries and he would not have given up his buisness to become even more involved in a club that was going bust, it just doesn't make sense.

Likewise would it make sense for TA and CMBC to even talk about the sale if the club could not really pay the rent.

It will all come out sooner or later.

You must be a Town fan in disguise. Of course I agree with you but those of us who think this all stinks must be assimilated for our own good it seems.

Lets say you are right and Fax go bust and never play another game at the Shay how will that improve on what there is now, there definately won't be any rent from them then that's for sure.

Meaning the only part of the community being served by it will be Town and the 1000 to 1500 fans who watch them all the while many other essential services that affect far more than that are being cut.

The short fall that the council is having to pick up the tab for each year will get even bigger putting more pressure on them to sell it off or for it to crumble back into the ground because the council definately don't have any money to spend on it.

The article was hidden away on page 5, two small paragraphs I believe.

It seems that some of the so called fans are delighting in this subject.
Instead of conjecture and scare mongering why not let the topic lie until Monday 17th when Mr Steele and Karl are holding an open question evening.

This forum has been taken over by complete bell ends. Unfortunately one or two genuine Fax fans have taken the bait. Mind you, it doesn't surprise me that Chris Smith is one if the first.

Fax fan for 30+ years and proud to be.... Also been through and seen the club skint more times than I care to remember. I'm called negative blah blah blah by folk on here but I really don't care what they say / think. Ultimately I want what everyone else wants which is a successful Halifax RLFC.....

For potentially a defining season in the recent history if Halifax RLFC I've felt we merely assembled an ok squad but in my opinion not a top 2 side. We should be setting our stall out thus year, driving our fan base forward and this does not paint us in a good light and let's our Wendy ball friends have a field day. There may well be very good reason for the non payment or withholding of rent but the fans should be made aware of the reason if it is bonafide.

I'm sure it will all come out and I'm hoping it is positive but on the eve of a new season it would be good to understand what's going on.....

@faxcar I just don't understand the reasoning. You're appearing to suggest that it's better to let Fax carry on not paying the rent because the alternative is worse. I'm not sure many non-Fax fans would agree.

I've said it before and I'll say it again as a fan I'm allowed to gave concerns about the non payment. For one I'm not sure why we haven't paid rent now for 16 months....?? These rumours have been rife since well before Xmas and for me a simple statement from the club saying the club was in dispute with the council over issues and until these were resolved the club were withholding payment..... Would at least appease fans like me who have paid substantial money in donations over the years to bail the club out, given my time to raise funds etc etc..... Think I've got a right to raise my concern.
However if the club say all is okay for reasons x, y and z I'll believe them as I trust the guys in charge. Silence though sometimes does say more.... I'd be defending HRLFC and attacking the Town lot if we had nothing to hide over alleged monies not being paid.

I do think though that constantly looking at the club through rose tinted glasses constantly cause a blinkered view. Were all the same, want the same thing but if someone raises something slightly confrontational then abuse and degrading comments follow..... Not required.

It's not new news, as stated elsewhere it was in the print version of the courier (just how many people actually but that?) on Friday.

Unlike many posters on here, I don't know the exact numbers involved, but it'd be a pretty fair assumption that to build up a debt of that size we haven't paid for a while, but at the same time, it appears that other suppliers and players/staff have been paid. No one has said otherwise.

A statement from the club could nip speculation in the bud, but if there is some legal proceedings going on in the background perhaps that explains the lack of information, according to the courier the council didn't answer all he points in the FOI due to ongoing legal issues as well.

Time will tell what happens, season starts next week. Can we talk about that instead?

Don't buy printed version and article just made top story on online version. Taking into account other sad events reported that happened less than 24 hours ago I thought it was a new article. In light of all the rumours etc and accusations being mentioned plus my own thoughts I shared the link as well as my own thoughts... Last time I looked I didn't live in North Korea and was entitled to an opinion without the need to call into effect my fan status. I've trusted every board in charge of HRLFC over the years.....

That said, I am putting my trust and faith in our BOD and confident (hopeful at least) that they will see us through this.

Surely trust is earned? TA lied to our faces at the open meeting, MS lied about not knowing who the potential buyer of the Shay was. The board has run up a 5-figure debt to the council, broken promises to pay by a deadline they agreed to, and are rumoured to owe another 5-figure sum to the caterers. Rumours or not, the silence is deafening.

The only fact here is - you know nowt, no facts, no evidence, no true understanding.
