As this is our biggest game of the season, i hope the club get the word out to the people of Calderdale. In the past we have been playing this game with only a weeks build up. The victory on Friday gives the club ample time to market the game. Have prices been set yet etc? We may not know who we are playing but that shouldn't stop us.

They should do an offer of £10 admission, apparantly the game is on Fri 20th 7.30 K.O nothing official yet though!! Hope we can get many down!

I don't think the club will know who they're playing against just yet, whether it's the tv game or even what day/evening our opponents will be prepared to travel. Personally, I couldn't really careless about the size of the crowd for this one game, winning it with a few casualties as possible is everything though.

It's difficult to promote a game against one of three possible opponents on a date anywhere from Thursday to Sunday.

Especially when a club like your's has historically refused to decrease admission prices & going public on the matter.

You have to make the most of the big paydays.

So hopefully we repay the favour, call the gates much lower than they are pocket some money to make up for what we lost playing you last week and carry on to the final. I also hope we don't have to put up with playing Sheffield next year, great team but terrible for any other club. Terrible support, terrible ground and lose money playing you.

Fax have already intimated on Radio Leeds on Sunday, that the game will be played on either the [uThursday night[/u (if selected by Premier Sports) or [uFriday night[/u.

One of the very sensible reasons given was that, whoever the opponents might be, it would give them less recovery time between fixtures.

Leigh probably thought the same these past two years.

I notice that Sheffield are playing Dewsbury on Sunday evening giving the winners even less recovery time.

Lets be careful about all the talk of recovery time, remember the Whitehaven debacle a few years back?

Forget who we're playing and how long its been since their last game. We need to turn up and do what we do, not worry about how long its been since the opponents last game and what advantages that may or may not bring.

We need to concentrate and not be complacent just repeat the performance at the Don Valley.

Surely from a crowd and atmosphere perspective, Sunday would be the best day.

Plus we're part time, I'd rather our working players be fresh and ready to play rather than having a day at work before the biggest game of the season.

Although, I maybe biased as I don't come back from holiday til Friday morning and I'll cutting it fine for a Friday Ko and defo out for a thursday

Good news only giving our opponents 4 days turn around. If Sheffield manage to get past Dewsbury their players will be broken the amount of rugby they have played.

From a crowd perspective - the 7pm kick off on a Thursday is a joke. Makes it difficult for those of us that dont work in Halifax to get to the game in good time - cant have a couple of pints beforehand etc.

Time to ditch this premier sports deal - yes it's good exposure for the game but if all this exposure doesn't result in higher crowd figures for the clubs whats the point (given the club doesnt get anything from premier sports for screening it?).

Also hurts season ticket sales - I can't commit to one of these next year if all the top games are going to be on a Thursday (which seems to happen often).

Time for a re-think on the deal.

Agree with Jaffro by the way. Midweek games can go and suck my balls. I gave up religion so I could watch Rugby League on Sundays. I'm going to hell and now they've moved it all to midweek.
