Last couple of years we have limped into playoffs and got hammered
in first game.This season seems to be petering out in the same way.
Why not get a couple of players in,get Scott fit and have a real go ?

Good question at a very relevant time.

Of course we will want to do as well as possible in the play off's and there is always a chance of us clicking.

An honest answer would be that we will be exposed against the same teams as in the league encounters as the problems in the pivot roles will still be there.

The game away at leigh will be a good marker as will the home tie against Batley.

Sundays game at home to York will be interesting in how many turn up and could give us a marker for what the home support think about the ambitions question.

There probably isnt the right quality of players available to bring in at the moment.

If it wernt obvious at the back end of last season where the squad was lacking then it should be pretty clear now. There seems to be a bit of a split in the league now, Sheffield and Fev are the two best teams in the league and probably by some distance imo then theres our selves who I feel are still quite a way off the top two but still some way ahead of Batley and Leigh.

How we catch the top two up is open to debate and apart from one or 2 exceptions KH`s recruitment has been questionable.

Leigh certainly were not 'way off' Sheffield last week.

When the top 5 teams play to their potential there is very little between them all. Hence why results have gone various ways this season.

if you don't turn up, you could get beat.

With regards ambitions I think Rhino will be saying to the players "season starts again on Sunday"

if we put a good run together we could win it. But we will have to perform.

People only remember the last performance, and v Fev that was shocking. Lets just see eh!

We have some more than capable players in our squad, some of which are still playing for contracts for next term.

I for one will be there on Sunday.

Well! I would suggest that our ambitions this season from this point onwards will be to finish as high up the table as we can and then ultimately win the GF otherwise whats the point in trying. We have everything to look forward to. If we get Murrell fit, plus the possibility of actually seeing Nanyn in a Fax shirt in anger then we have every reason to be positive. The Fev mauling aside, we were actually playing some decent rugby although not for 80 minutes. Personally i cant see the point in too much negativity. Time to judge is at the end of the season.

We,Leigh, are a small squad and injuries have hampered us. Rowley kept playing beswick at 7 and it didn't work, Riddy and Kes works and if your halves he'll then you are in with a shout
It looks like we have lost hoppy for the season but have Duffy and bate coming to the table from the 20's, together with parker Aspinwall Higson and Govin coming back to fitness - I think it will be an interesting play off series

Theres a surprise. Thats all he did at Halifax, then got injured again.

To be honest I think Fev have ,and do, look quality again. Sheffield also look good but I fear for them if strike players like QLT, 'keep calm and pass it to Menzie,'etc get injured. Leigh obviously have quality for the one off's and Batley at Mount Pleasant are a match for anybody. So where does that leave Fax? Morrell fit, Nanyn in and then a bit of self belief and proper positive support from the 18th man (instead of all the doom and gloom) and who knows, we could give these teams a run for their money. Whatever happens its going to be a cracking end of season this time. Keep the faith.

Dunno what to say really as still feeling flat after that defeat to Fev and can only see one winner in the GF and its them, the rest of this season feels pointless to me now but thats me still feeling down and not convinced our lot are good enough.
The big question is who will Fev be playing in the Final?
Will it be Sheffield or will they run out of steam with all theses games they have to fit in?
Will we be able to raise our game and actually get there?
Or will Leigh be able to do what they did in the NRC and go on a run?
But saying that Sheffield were favourites for the NRC and they lost so maybe there is hope?

Just because you lost to us the other week doesn't mean your out of it for this season. Just think back to the beginning of the year you all thought you had the best squad in the championship in 2014 and it hasn't changed that much + you brought Murrell in who is now one of the best on the championship A few wins going into the play off and your in the mix like the rest of us You need to get down to the shay get behind the team and see where you are coming the end of the season Stay positive there's a long way to go yet

Oh I wouldn't know. Someone texted me this aft to say that our loanee has had a few injury hits but i don't really know too much about him. Young Mr Fleming moved on to expand his opportunities as a full time professional so I'd say from his point of view, moving back to Championship standard would be a negative move for his development, unless he's not getting much gametime at Cas. No, I'm a big believer in follow your dreams & good luck to the lad. And also, did Karl & Greeny coach him at Batley or was that after they came to us that he went there ?
I'm just hoping that the decks have been cleared with Sam trying his luck elsewhere & Davies and possibly others coming onboard freshen our lot up somewhat. If we fail to get to the GF ( minimum ) this season on top of the NRC failure I would personally be very disappointed with the season's achievements of our team.
I must say, I've loved the semi finals & finals experiences of the last few seasons, & just like the halcyon days of the late 80's you sort of come to expect it when it's occurred for a few seasons consecutive.
I know the playing staff & coaching teams really aim for the league title & that consistency over the length of a whole season but I don't know what we're going to have to do to win the league, in recent seasons our squads have been large enough compared to our main rivals to compete over a season. We've never finished top of the table since we got relegated, that's ridiculous & unacceptable. I genuinely thought this would be our year with some of our signings but I can't see us topping the table & I do believe you're better off finishing in the top 1 or 2 to be in with a good shout at the GF despite Leeds Rhinos & Sheffield Eagles offerings in recent seasons.
