What is the situation on the repairs to the North Stand

As part of the World Cup game bid the council promised to repair the terracing on the north terrace, and the installation of a new electronic scoreboard.

As mentioned elsewhere, The Shay will now host the NRC final this season. (not sure if there is a thread for that on this forum, but its been posted on twitter by the courier and other rl feeds)

Unless i've missed any announcments, I still havent seen any thing around the coming work, which needs to be started soon I would have thought to be completed in time

HAHAHA Are you serious ? This is the RFL. I know where I think it'll be played & I've also heard where the proposal is to play the NRC final. If my source is correct, it could also be home advantage for one of the teams.

Just glad we got to the final last year with you lot Had a great weekend at Blackpool and enjoyed it better than the grand final day If it ends up at Fax or Leigh I believe it will not be as good a day out and it certainly won't be the same for the home crowd I wouldn't of thought

I agree with most of your sentiments JT but after last year's NRC win, I would have staggered out of the party back at the Shay if i could have managed a stagger......

Plus what has Blackpool got that Halifax hasnt? They have Blackpool Tower, we have Wainhouse Tower. They have the promenade, we have Albert Promenade. They have the Irish Sea, we have the Calder. They have the Pleasure Beach, we have Shibden Boating Lake. They have the Tower Ballroom, we have the Acca!

They have sticky carpets, we have Hebden Bridge.

They have Blackpool Rock, we have Dobsons!

a RFL money saving exercise thats all. why spend money on a day out for a reserve league.

Not sure if the other clubs would be happy with the situation when we get to the final, one team playing at home.

Looking beyond the fact I am Fax through and through both Club and the Town it seems a bit daft to me and sort of lessons the enjoyment factor.

Any final should include some form of day or weekend out and away from the norm.

Blackpool with the above in mind ticked the boxes so why change??

Shouldn't it be at Odsal then as the RFL own the lease

When are they going to actually finish the work they started? They have managed to build a whole Broad Street complex in the mean time!! Not that it will destroy all the local restaurant business in the area! But the shay still looks like an unfinished mechano set when I drive past... shocking tbh

Give them chance, they talked about the Broad Street complex for most of my lifetime before actually getting it done
