My thoughts are the other Ashall from Swinton.

I hope we don't attempt to replace our best player with him no.

We need someone of absolute quality and not a player who can just 'do a job'.

The only potential signing I can think of who is fit to lace Penky's boots is Andy Ellis although I'm not sure how likely us signing him is.

My info may well be wrong (we'll see) but over the years has been pretty well informed!! My understanding is it is down to 2 players with one a clear fave to replace Penky.

I think all this getting on Chris's case is out of order, if you've got a beef with anyone on the forum do it via PM like I've previously carried a spat on with Chris or vice versa.

The facts of the matter are, he was told something and chose to put it on here, I was also told 3 weeks ago about Penky going to Leigh, I heard it from a good friend who is in no way connected with Halifax RLFC or supports/sponsors them. I chose to pass this info around to mates who follow RL via text, I was questioned about the integrity of the "rumour" but I sit here with a smile on my face safe in the knowledge that my informant was correct, whether anyone at Halifax RLFC knew about it, or even denied knowing it i couldn't care less TBH, 'cos I wouldn't expect a professional organisation to behave that way, similarly to the post I made a few days ago about players' salaries coming into the public domain.
What I will say is, one particular poster who doesn't get to too many games anymore asked me recently to keep him up to date with any rumours of signings 'cos in his words i was "spot on to date" and that I will 'cos we all love a bit of gossip and I won't be revealing my sources of info on here either ( remember Chris i questioned you about this on here ? )

Genuine question. Do you really think Handforth is up to a defensive stint that a hooker has to put in every game?

Absolutely not. Genuine answer. Would be a backward step IMO, leave things as they are and replace penky with someone of equal or better calibre, if we have the money as Powell suggests we have then use it. Penky would not have been cheap all this time.
