JCBs were there on Tuesday when I dropped the kids off at Rugby Camp, digging drainage channels according to a bloke at the clubhouse.
Planning permission due in a couple of weeks time, don't be suprised if the railway end is gone when/if you visit us for the play offs

| Looks good to me and it seems there has been a lot of thought put into it.
The bigger pitch will look a treat and the starting capacity should keep a good Rugby League atmosphere with one eye on the future if required.
Please tell me though that the slope will be going.

Still can't believe Belle Vue can hold 13000. If it was situated in the Calderdale area, the council would set the capacity at around 5000

and there's the rub Richie. How to increase crowds, - and we're talking income here, not artificially announced crowds just to play the numbers/ticky box game!!

Fortunately, the revedelopment is financed by external monies through grants/sponsorship deals etc. Otherwise I would imagine there is no way on earth re-developing the ground would make any kind of financial sense whatsoever given current crowd sizes/income as a return on that investment.

Dead easy solution. Give away (or sell very cheaply) X thousand Season Tickets and you are then allowed to include them in every attendance figure whether they turn up or not. That's the SL way so it has to be right for the Championships too. |
