OK, similar to your game on Sunday, it was difficult to assess how good we were/how bad Oldham were. Like fax on Sunday we were comfortable, did what we had to very well in a plop hole of a ground and a tattie field of a pitch. Oldham stuck with us running down the slope 1st half but were chasing shadows for the entire 2nd half. (Shadows probably being the operative word given the standard of the floodlights)!!

Dews next up, but they are still carrying injuries so I'm not sure how strong the opposition will be. In which case it will be the Sunday after against some other west yorks team when a reasonable assessment of both teams can be made.

Was in touch with a Fev fan last night after he'd been to the game, (Chris Taylor), and he said he felt very sorry for Oldham.

I've been to that ground, so I can appreciate RFF's comments on its state. They are doing their best to rectify this, though.

Going to be an interesting season.

Fev were a different class altogether second half and were scoring at will. Oldham are in a real sorry state and there's no way they'd be allowed to be promoted without doing a LOT of work on the ground.

if both Fax and Fev both win their next two games then they will both be through to knockout stages, leaving the Fax v Fev game a dead rubber. shame.

If we beat Fev at home in just over a week then it will be Squeaky bum time for them in the last group game against a decent looking Batley side as it will be a must win game.

Fax v Fev is the third game a week on Sunday 26th February (unless its changed).The group will not be decided by then. If the losing team does not pick up a bonus point they could be in danger of being eliminated on points difference even with nine points.

The four places in Group A after week one are (based on current form and forthcoming fixtures) between Featherstone, Halifax,Batley,Keighley,Toulouse and South Wales Scorpions.
South Wales Scorpions fixtures are Rochdale(A), Oldham(H),London Skolars(H) and Toulouse(A). They are the Group A dark horses especially if they have got there Wigan dual-registered players playing.

I promise you that next time we meet we will be a far more difficult prospect than when we played in pre season. Bring on Leigh and Bring on fev neither side scares me one bit

Can't help but feel really sorry for Oldham, they for me are one of the sacrificial lambs that the RFL have made of the traditional heartland clubs for their golden child that is SL. How will they survive in the wilderness that will be Championship 1 if they do stay down blimey I dread to think???

Think we may struggle to compete with fev this year, hope to be surprised though, think we may lack a bit of attacking prowess in the back row. Wouldn't mind seeing Matt James at SR think he's quick enough to be quite dangerous out there.

The RFL have bent over backwards to help Oldham at times, But they do quite like Chris Hamilton, at one point he was expected to be the person who will eventually take over from Big Nige,

we have Manning who i believe was in the dream XIII last season, Ashall who appears an outstanding prospect, morrison can play 2nd row and maybe Reittie may find himself there when the grounds dry out. add to that Chandler amd I beleive we are at least competitive
