I agree with you Littlerich....although disappointed,we need to kick on,would rather win in the Championship than get hammered every week in Superleague! There's another chance in July,slim but a chance! So continue to make it hard for the RFL, and you never know????? Cas are on thin ice with the ground, so that will be our only way in i feel...but if the posts get shifted again you can never be certain! I FOR ONE LOVED THE GRAND FINAL,AND LOVE BEING THE CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMPIONS!!!!!

Talking of reality though, there's gonna be a reality check for a current SL team as well, there's a few now that will be bricking it.

If Fax gets the performances going and get themselves to the top of the league, put on a good show on the BBC against the Bulls, keeps the crowds up then I think there might be a better than slim chance in July. Just need to make sure as a club you are heard and put it without doubt that you should be in that league as a competitive team. There'll be a few teams in SL that will be worrying!

I don't think anyone can begrudge Widnes a place this time after the 2008 farce. Let's get the games won, the crowds in and get top of the league so that we have to force the RFL's hand and award us a place.

I have nothing against Widnes but for me I knew Widnes would get it but strangly feel gutted because Mr Lewis has said we meet the minimum requirements to be a SL Club.

To be fair to Widnes their bid is probably as good as two thirds of the clubs in SL. So it is no shame to miss out to them. However, come July I'm confident our bid will be better than at least 5 clubs currently in SL. So am more than confident that we will be selected then. Cas and Wakey will drop out, our they will expand the league.

Plus it's only fair Widnes get extra time to recruit, seeing as they are so bad at it!!

I agree. On the postive side:

1. The RFL have confirmed we meet the minimum criteria. As such, provided we tick the on field criteria for the next round in 2015 then, applying the precedent just set with Widnes, it will be our turn to get the nod.
2. Batley do the best pie, chips and gravy in the world so there's at least 4 more servings to be had before we return to our place in the sun

The above assumes that we won't get the place in July. I can't see the RFL giving two current teams the boot. Our best bet will be if they do a last minute rule change and increase numbers by 1.

I'm chuffed that we have passed the criteria to able to go against the SL clubs - it shows we are making great progress. However, I hope we dont make it in july, we'll find it really really tough if we do!

I agree with Sean we have played the game and the club did a really professional job in putting a creditable application together. So well done FAX !!!! Also the announcement today was very odd .... The RL admitted we met all the criteria so it was a straight decision between us and Widnes.

Whats going to happen in July if an exisiting SL club are given a licence when they do not meet the criteria - in my opinion I think they will increase the SL by two teams as taking a licence from someone like Wakefield would leave them crippled even worst financially as they will be budgeting within the club on SL status.

Surely the RL would have been better today saying that Barrow and Halifax had strong bids but the place goes to Widnes why open themselves up to criticism by stating FAX have met the required criteria ????

Can see it being like Widness is now, despite the fact that you imo are the better option they were turned down in favour of Crusaders. So this year were gonna get in no matter what to make up for it. So i can see you being certs to get in just like they were this year despite all this criteria they say they us, to make up for not getting it though you still may as a few SL clubs havent kept the promises they made to the RFL.
