| A very controversial thread this might be.
I love Rob. He tries his nuts off. BUT ..... we signed him to make block busting long range efforts ... not just simply run the blasted ball back in the tackle.
And I was spitting chips when he lost the ball near the end which could have blown it or us.
So ... come on Rob ... pump them friiging legs and lets see what you can REALLY do!!

Personally I felt he played his best game defensively today and I thought he looked a lot more confident.

| It looks like Worrincy just needs that little bit of good luck now so he can open his legs and go - always just seems to half get away in traffic but never clear.

I want to see more in attack, shayfax. I was caght in themiddle of "run ****** forard" and "he is running forward!" arguments today. He doesn't run forward IMO. He stops and runs sideways and all that.

Agree there, and see your point. I think the problem is (from what I observed today) that we get too clogged up towards the sidelines, our centres run outwards at an angle giving the winger very little space to dart to the line. If the centres can run straighter and draw the defenders in, it should open up darting runs for Lee and Rob.

To be fair to him i think he is making good progress. He`s not a slacker who hides. He is always willing to take the ball up which inevitably will result in the odd knock on. I think if we keep the faith he will be a good un.

| Rob has had his share of doubters, but if we remember back to early last season, Miles took a lot of stick from some doubters and we only have to look at him now. He is one of the crowd favourites and plays well week in week out.
I think that given time, Rob will become a valuable member of the team and he has already improved his standard since arriving at the start of the season. His ball carrying has improved greatly and he looks much more secure under the high ball.
These are skills that can be worked on and given time he will master them and come on greatly in a winning squad.

| To be fair to him when he `dropped` the ball at the end it was reefed by a Barra player and as 1 Barra player had already dropped off the tackle it should have resulted in a penalty to us. Think hes doing ok and will get a lot better.

| I think Rob has improved loads since the start of the season. My only criticism of him is that he is a winger and never actually runs down the wing! That will come though and i think he has the potential to be a great player. Keep it up Rob!

| I agree, I like him but some spectators are still doubters.
I meant that given time, ALL the fans will see him as a valuable member of the team and not just a squad player.

| What he may lack in backing himself down the wing he makes up for in taking 1 and maybe 2 drives out of a set when we are camped on our own line...
Keep it up Rob good eggby mate!!!

| Thought Rob was awesome today - really worked hard and he was like an extra forward. Always willing to take the ball up and every time he did he took some stopping. Spoke with Matt after the game and he mentioned the efforts of both Rob and Lee Paterson. It's good to see wingers prepared to put their bodies on the line and help the forwards out.

Yer but he does get the opposition defence going all over the shop.
Today was not a day for wingers, sadly for us especially as we havethe better backs.
Worrincy is doing okay, his turn will come.

| i thought rob had 1 of his best games for us this aft, hardly made ne mistakes, and came looking for wk in midfield alot!
i notices a few times, especiallly in 2nd half where he took 2 drives in a set!! and made good yards, as good as ne of our props 2day(not that theywer bad or owt),
hes that strong, like roberts, diff to tackle 1st up on yer own,
give him time, and
.........i cant wait to see him in some real space!

Here, Here!
I second that.
I think Rob has been growing in confidence and looks a real strong part of the team. Okay, he has not done a length of the field try YET, but it will come. But he works his socks off (or is that Said?) and he is getting better and better.
I think he has been / is excellent and we havent yet seen the best of him.

It wasn't [iGO WEST[/i was it ?
I was going to put [iYAZOO[/i but one of them was a woman who looked liked a bloke
I think Worrincy has had two consecutive awesome games. It's a different game nowadays playing wing or FB, with the dummy half work they have to contribute in their own territory early in the tackle count to get a quick roll on. To be fair to the lad, he's come back from some questions aimed at him defending bombs and he looks more confident for it in defence. As a forward in the tight three defending positions around the ruck, you wouldn't want him coming at you at pace with his tricky footwork, I reckon he'll be working to Calland's instructions. My only criticism would be how he carries the ball, a lot of their defenders were throwing an arm at the ball to dis-lodge it.

| He has good workrate, but one thing that surprised me, he doesn't have that sheer pace that I thought he would have to go the length of the field, is he 100% fit or has he lost some pace or never had it?(besides that length of field effort for Sheffield at the Shay) (Sheffield fans???)

He went the full length of the field at Don Valley.
