I was in the corner where Pendlebury knocked the ball out of Loughlin / Ledger's hands as he was diving to score. Everyone shouted 'dropped it !'

In hindsight, 27 years later (!) it was a bloody amazing tackle.

I've spoken to Wilf ball the George more than once since (NR cup final win over Fev springs to mind) and I asked him if with the current video ref technology his try would of been awarded, he took great pleasure in telling me that without a doubt he scored that try. I found no reason to doubt him!!! Top Man

that was some Family Story .I do however remember the 87 Cup Final , that day I was at Uttoxeter races , and watched the game in parts , 87 was a good year for me as my Daughter Danni was born that year .

All I would say is that when you are stood face to face with him and he says he scored, I would agree with him!!!
