Michael, one of our directors, holds this award permanently. It would be further fitting if his middle name was Oliver.

I still think it's a stupid name for the player of the season award.

Then again. Look at the golden boot. The title that in the round ball game is given to the player who scores the most goals. Yet in our game it's the award for world player of the year. Who thinks up these titles?

And if all the journalists know who's won it. What's the point in inviting them to a big fancy awards night! Only for the times to announce it before the embargo?

I thought they altered what the Golden Boot was awarded for last year.



On a side note I think its a pretty decent squad, I would rather have Brough and Chase at halves but our pack should go well and we do have some quality in the backs.

So will it be Sinfield at stand off or Widdop?
So it could be a loose forward at stand-off, 2nd rower at centre, pretty much sums up our lack of quality backs.

Danny Brough fully deserves his award for this season, the other two nominees aside, how the hell did Lockers get into the three ? He's hardly played, regardless of how good he is & Peacock, nahhhhh, others would have got in before him for my money.

Brough did right to choose his other option after the way McNamara ignored him, that guy is a total clown & shouldn't be anywhere near the national side, typifies the RFL.

McIllorum has been superb at Wigan & i think he's the best British hooker we've had for years.
