Rubbish! At half time that game was there for the taking. Absolutely no creativity at all in attack. We were very clueless. Handforth was dreadful I was hoping he'd get better as games went on so hadn't made an opinion on him but today was his chance to shine against his former club and he bottled it. And that ref should never ref again!

No matter how much the opposition hold you down and niggle in the tackle there can be no excuse for headbutting another player. Rettie will definately pick up a ban and we might even get more bans from the fight near the end.

Out played today and our discipline was terrible but it highlights what a great league this is...

I hope we don't have to return to Batley soon though, i was questioning humanity after sitting with their fans jeez...

I guess we should give Batley some credit, they knew if they tried to out play us they would struggle so I guess it worked out well for them that we didn't complete our sets and had a weak ref who dosnt police the play the ball very well.

Still I think we would have won the game with 13 men as even though we were off par we still looked the better team for a lot of the game.

I don't think we need to be overly negative today. Just one of those frustrating games that got away from us.

It's not possible to look at the teams on an even basis given that for the majority of the time when it was 13 v 13 Batley had the slope. We created opportunities in the first half but the ball didn't stick - I wasn't moaning at Sheffield, Featherstone or last week when it did stick, so can't get upset on those occasions that it doesn't. I thought we contained them well in the first half, and 12-6 gave us a good platform to record a solid win.

We'd also lost Tyrer early on which disrupted the gameplan.

All was going to plan in what was a very enjoyable game until Rettie got sent off.

To me, the defeat was entirely down to one moment of stupidity from Rettie. He deserves a long ban.
