| Malc and I have been to Huddersfield Infirmary this evening to look in on Mark Goodman, our Under23/First team player who had that horrific leg injury last week against Sheffield Eagles. It was badlly broken and it'll be some time before it can heal.
Mark's family, Mum, Dad, and brother were there and despite that injury Mark was in really good spirits. He's already had to have a couple of surgical procedures and there's a couple more in the imminent future but Mark was facing up to a relatively long lay off with some style.
He's obviously been chatting the nurses up, or possibly they've been flirting with him, he's got internet access to see whats going on in the world of rugby and the only downside is that he's "starving". . obviously he's not allowed to eat before any surgery.
We did think about taking a Big Mac meal in. . . good job we didnt cos he would not have been allowed to eat it and so probably Malcolm would have eaten it in front of him!!! And that would have after Malc had had an "all you can eat dinner" at the top of the Ainleys
He's had a few visitors from the Club already, Martin Gonzalez and Jim Gannon called in on Saturday evening I think Under 23 captain Chris Holroyde has been in to see him. . .so he's bearing up and hopefully we'll see him around the Club in the not too distant future even though it'll probably be on crutches.
It was pleasing to see just how well Mark was given the nature of the injury He seems determined to get over it and come back stronger and I'm sure that everyone at the Club and the supporters too wish him well in his rehabilitation and that we all hope to see him back in the squad eventually

| Thanks for the info Mike and I am sure I speak on behalf of all and wish him all the best despite the bad break. Good to see the club caring about people as well. A little thing but means a lot to Mark no doubt

| I spoke to both Mike Riley at saturday's game & Gonzo when I dropped my lad off at training last night and both blokes spoke of Mark's condition with true care for the lad. I'd like to wish him all the best in his recovery, I sat near to his dad at the two most recent 23's fixtures and they seem a nice family, nobody deserves an injury such as Mark's but unfortunately they are a hazard of the sport and do occassionally occur. It was obvious immediately that it was a serious accident & everyone from officials, players, medical staff ought to be praised on their reactions & actions. It's sometimes easy to get carried away watching such a sport as our's but I'm sure Mark won't be cast aside and the club appear to be doing all they can for him. It'd be nice to see him down at the Shay ASAP.
Good luck Goody.
