Quote ="Greg Florimos Boots"Aww you have hurt my feelings, im probably not going to get much sleep tonight.
Some aspects off the field are good and some are bad. I think you need to take the blinkers off. There is masses of room left for improvement but while everyone just swans along because nobody dare say anything then those improvements never happen. I will tell you one thing, although people who worked for the club didnt like Stephen Pearsons attitude, he got things done and i would guarentee that the club would be run a damn site better than it is today if he were still alive. Unfortunatley as we know life dosnt run that straight forward but imo if the club could bring the same type of driven person in then they could make a lot of progress, not sure a lot of the staff would be happy though.'"
I agree wholeheartedy with this post I do believe our Club would be very differant today if Stephen was still around.
I knew Stephen for very many years and he joined me on the governing body at a school where I had been for some considerable time and his drive and organisational skills transformed us.
His methods were not always popular with a group who had been used to quite often being just nodding dogs and to do things differantly meant everyone had to step up and work harder. But as the Body was transformed and new members replaced the ones who found the differant method of working not to their style the school improved in all aspects .
He was inspirational , honest, his work ethic second to non , he did not suffer fools gladly and some time his directness was not to everyones likeing but by golly your right he did get things done.He could also smell a rat from a mile off and seemed to preempt situations before they happened.
When he was elected to the council he was too busy to attend our meetings and left our school , although he was always at the other end of the phone for me if needed,I still missed his contribution as I do with the rugby club.
He came into the Club at a bad time all guns blazing and there was still a lot of unfinished business to do when he was taken ill and you right it isn`t all about the rescources but how you manage them.
Stephen left a legacy at our school of a differant way of working that we learned from and continued to improve I ensured we never slpped back into what was before.
But the Stephen Pearsons of this world are few and far between and his loss whilst so young was just so sad for all his friends and family.
