Quote ="for-FAX-sake"I was just wondering what sort of impact the forums have on the FAX players, i would assume pretty safely that some of the boys come on here to read the fans perspective, now that the dust has settled with regards to the RFL and licences and people have calmed down, i just wonder what sort of impact it has had on the players with folk saying there are going to stop following rugby league and halifax.
I realise a lot of the comments were knee jerk reaction but i just question whether the players get hold of this and if it damages their own ambition and beliefs...I for one just wanted to say whatever the circumstance i will always be behind the boys.
Up the Fax and lets make it another grand final
'"
I would think just saying some will stop coming will make little difference
The players will no doubt be able to see why some would say that.
At the time they are only words and it will depend on how many words become a reality.
The players still have plenty to play for both from the clubs point of view and personally.
A new coach will be coming in, contracts to negotiate and they need to keep performing.
In many ways it will be down to how the players perform on the field in respects to the size of the crowd.
If they can maintain an exciting brand of Rugby League and remain competative then the crowds will come back simply because once that type of game is being played it's infectious, who would have missed the last 3 or 4 years for example!!
Ground and location wise Halifax and the Shay is as good as it gets for most of our current sqaud.
In spite of the set back, at Championship level Halifax is as good a place to be and as good a side to play for as any and a lot better than most.
The RFL can take away oppourtunities but they can't change the fact that we are still a good club, a leading club in the Championship, off the field, on the field and in all other aspects.
Slow but sure Fax will be back.
