Quote="rickster"it'll be interesting to find out how much we do actually spend on players. Are we upto the limit or are we miles off - who knows ; we could be well under considering the size of our squad.
Will the introduction of our under 18s next season count in the cap - i presume it opens the door to anthony bowman and other young players we sign to press for a first team squad place.'"
Payments to under 21's at 31st August in the previous year don't count towards the cap.

I dont have a short memory, we at Halifax have had alot of problems financially not just recently but in the past, where we have been more concerned about on the field and the bills will be paid tomorrow attitude. I do think alot of rugby clubs are run that way because ultimately the directors of the clubs are usually wealthy supporters where hearts rule heads.
However we have learnt from our past mistakes and are running with a sound business plan and budgetting sensibly.
Maybe what the RFL should do is send a team into clubs and help them plan and budget properly, oh sorry it already does. The golden child which is Celtic.
I agree with you whole heartedly on the promotion and relegation issue, thats what will ultimately ruin our sport
