Having re-read the OP im still trying to work out why this thread is still going and the other isnt even though there is more valid points on the other. Any way i took a minute to work through the post.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"We have a head coach who has publically come out and said we are the best team in the league'"
Last time i looked we were. The league table dosnt lie and all he is doing is stating what all opposition coaches acknowledge.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"and supporters who are taking any opportunity they have to chant at the opposition how good we are, and how rubbish they are.'"
Thats sport.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"Rumours are also circulating about the behaviour of individuals in Blackpool and Toulouse, which does not put out a very positive image of the club and IMO confirms the arrogant attitude that we are better than everyone else.'"
Wasnt individuals it was just about all. I say let them get smashed unless it effects thier performace which on Fridays performance at the end it suggested that it did. They are employed by the club and if off field activities are affecting on field performances then it becomes a problem. I feel playing with 16 players was more of a contributing factor though.
But bagging the players on here should see this thread locked apparently.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"Yes, I am soooo happy we are top of the league, I have waited 24 years to see my team being successful, but having been through the cr@p, I and I'm sure others will agree, do not want to come across as being arrogant like Bradford and Leeds were a few years ago.'"
Why were/are the above teams disliked you have to ask yourself. Its because they are succesful. Its a British thing so im not sure being disliked is such a bad thing.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"There is no need for anyone in our league to be like this, but unfortunately success will breed arrogance. I just hope we can stamp it out on the terraces and to a certain extent on the pitch.'"
Are our players playing with arrogance? Id say confidence but lets try to nip that in the bud straight away.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"Throughout the entire game, there was no attempt to try and drag players into touch'"
No one attempted a torpedo kick either.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"It was a massive game last night, and yet again we choked on the occasion.'"
Seriously? Did we choke? Get a grip. For whatever reason we were out on our feet. Add to that a fresh Fev who played very well.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"We seem to lack that killer instinct which enables us to put a team to bed, Whitehaven in the NRC semi's a few years ago, Widnes in the play-offs, Widnes in the NRC, Whitehaven in the play-offs and Featherstone last night.'"
About the only valid point you make. Although only the Haven NRC and Fev game can really count. Which Widnes playoff game? Widnes in the NRC we were chasing for most of the game so putting it to bed is a bit harsh.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"If we are going to win this league, which we are capable of doing, we need to start playing smart rugby at critical times. Going for 2 points when there is 15 minutes to go was one of the worst tactical decisions I have seen in a very long time.'"
The fact that you cant recognize the reason we went for goal totally infuriates me. I wonder what game people wacth sometimes. We have two players who asked to leave the field because they are knackered yet you want players who are out on their feet to carry on and not have a breather. Taking 2 didnt cost us the game any number of incidents cost us the game but this wasnt one of them.
Quote ="ClaireFAXFAN"Featherstone deserved the victory last night, they weren't the classier side, but they played simple rugby, got in our faces and wanted it more - tactics which at the momment, will beat us every week.'"
Didnt work for Toulouse.
About sums the original post up.
