Quote ="Bulldogarmy"Think his comments were slightly ill-judged t.b.h., and smacked of petulant sour grapes.
I'm sure that Bobby Goulding and John Monie don't have anything against people of Algerian descent, and I don't see any reason why they would have Tamghart is a good player and has had a good season, but if he's not getting picked for the national team I hardly think its wise to start alleging things like 'racism'.
P.s. Isn't Djamel Fakir from Catalans of Moroccan descent? He seems to have no problems gaining inclusion in the France squad on a regular basis.'"
I agree completely. He may have been out of the national team wrongly, but racism is a very strong accusation while other players with North African origin have been included in the national team (Fakir, Saddaoui, Fellous).
But in any case I find his comment most unwise. I am sure Bobby has nothing against him for racial reasons, but his outburst will if anything hurt his chances to be selected, which is a pity for him and for the team. If I were Bobby I would think twice before taking a players who says openly in the press that he has not a good relationship with other French players
and who seems to hint that he was waiting for the Toulouse match with a revengefull mind
.
He looks like a very good player, and if he is good enough he should be in the national team, but saying conflictual things against potential team mates in the press is most unwise and does not bode well for his ability to integrate the team...
