John, I believe in the cream will rise and the laws of business are paramount. If the Doc wants to spend £500k pa to bring in Sam Burgess then let him get on with it, provided it isnt done via 'loans' is my only caveat ie don't spend what you don't have.

Using a cap to limit the ambitious clubs is wrong imo, be that SL or our level, again the caveat being 'loans', so if say we at Leigh wish to spend £500k over our projected income in say, 2015, provided it is done by donation/shares/sponsorship why should we be stopped from doing so? (replace Leigh with any club btw)

Our sport should be about ambition, the excitement of being part of that ambition tends to have a very positive impact on income both through the gate and in sponsorship, we need to make our sport sexy again on the national stage and having a cap massively below when SL started is stopping that imo

Thimk I read somewhere that it were £300K but Im sure it used to be £350K or slightly more. Rising to 1 Million next year for those that can afford it Ie. Fev.

If the top two this year don't spend it on a £1m FT squad next season then what a waste
