Rhinos Get Off the Mark but Giants Remain PointlessIn any recent season, tonights clash at Headingley Carnegie between the Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants would have been an eagerly anticipated top of the table clash. In these early stages of 2016 it saw bottom of the table Leeds host the side just one place above them, with both sides looking for their first win of the season.
Leeds were still without a whole host of stars, and the Giants had fared equally badly with injuries in the opening rounds of the season, but the visitors were relieved to welcome back the inspirational Danny Brough to their ranks.
The Rhinos had won three out of the last four meetings between the two sides with the fourth game being a 24-24 draw at Headingley just over a year ago. The last meeting, a 20-16 win to the Rhinos, was the night that Leeds secured the minor premiership in 2015.
