This is a comparison even in your world........

It seems a little odd that a meeting with curry and booze for 30 people is any less serious than a rendition of happy birthday and the blowing out of candles with a few colleagues.

The Met said something similar but decided to change their view and undertook an investigation on Boris and Co. Don't think the door is closed on this. Now we know KS overlooked his 'eye candy' being present plus ? 28 others that he also forgot about.

Was it a curry and booze u for 30 people ?
If so, deal with this in line with the rules at the time - no problem.
As for the cake and happy birthday as if this was the extent of the multiple gatherings at No 10

Why are you ignoring the, "remembering the levels of restrictions that were in place at the time" bit? Is it because once you account for that this made-up story stops being a thing?

| No alcohol allowed at my place of work. At all. In fact all employees agree to random drug and alcohol testing as part of their contract of employment. This can take place at any time if the company suspects you are under the influence, and random testing is carried out at least twice a year by an outside company. This was the case at both my current and previous place of employment. My last place of employment was in the textile industry for a smallish firm, I now work in the chemical industry for a global multi national and that policy is in place across all their places of business worldwide.
Drinking in the workplace just seems crazy to me, when they are supposed to be doing something so critical!

| In the interests of balance I thought I'd mention that I met a junior Minister yesterday to tell them about some of the work my team has been doing throughout the pandemic and since. She was lovely, engaged, interested and relatable. However you may feel about the cabinet, beneath them are very many junior ministers who put in some real graft and genuinely care about their portfolio.
I think in these polarised days where we claim every Labour MP is a raging Commie and all Tories being fascists, we need to recognise there are a myriad of MPs who genuinely care across the political spectrum. They are not "all the same". Not remotely.

Well unless you move to Ukraine you would stand little chance of seeing de Pfeffel in the North. He now considers delivering a book about the queen by hand was more important than levelling up. He even lied to his own Northern MP’s who were waiting for him to discuss this very situation. I suppose when you have nothing to say and three European leaders have dared to go to Ukraine it is vital you look to appear to be a world leader rather than a unethical leader of a troubled country.

Bottled out of his visit to Wakefield.
Mind you, that will help the Tory candidate.
Also, what about him trying to employ his missus as a £100k "adviser" ??

He appears to have a liking for using tax payers money to pay for his lady friends, be it pole dancing or chief of staff. It is unfortunate that his press enablers buried the story.

unfortunately they didn't bury it any where deep enough and its now suffering from the Streisand effect!
what's annoying is this constant drip drip drip of information - if they had got it all out there at once he'd be gone by now.
watch out for the next Starmer revelation where the media will be horrified that he got his mother-in-law a free packet of crisps and be calling for him to resign as a result.
another year of the nasty sleaze bucket living it up drinking champagne whilst half the country struggle to keep warm, sit in the dark to save money and live on beans on toast - makes my blood boil.

| Looks like the Tories favourite newspaper owner of The Mail has been given a seat in the house of Lords ??
The same newspaper that described the Lords as "House of unelected wreckers", when it suited them.
Dirty and sleazy doesn't come close to describing this lot.
It's like feeding time at the farm of Tory sleaze, all filling their pockets with taxpayers money, whilst the nation pulls its collective belt ever tighter.

| I see Boris is in Rwanda for a week - hopefully letting the noise around these two bi-elections dies down.
Man is a disgrace - the Tories will get a hammering if he is still in charge come the general election.

In the words of the McDonald's adverts, I'm loving it.!
Also, rags like the Torygraph suggesting that "there is no one else" (that could be PM from the Tory Party), really isnt going to help.
At least some of us could see what he was like from the get-go, it's a pity that the rest of you took so long.

| It is quite striking that in the de Pfeffel’s cabinet they cannot find anyone better than him. This says a lot about the bunch of wasters they have.
With the two results who or what does de Pfeffel blame the cost of living crisis, it is nothing to do with him.
I suppose he is hoping that with the boundary changes coming along which will increase the Conservative seats by 20.

No one else that he hasnt leaked some sleaze on to discredit, on second thoughts I hope he clings on as long as possible, that way the s**tshow continues and the tories have no chance next time around. The only problem is starmer is just as less likely to get my vote.
Can we get a campaign going. Lynch for prime minister, or even better Joe lycett. It worked for Ukraine.
Johnson is tone deaf to public opinion, and the rest of the party just seem to be past caring.

It's staggering that the rest of the Tory party cant find some backbone and lance the boil that is Johnson.
Only a fool can believe that he is the man to take them into the next election.
As for Starmer, I kind of agree with your sentiment. However, the last thing Labour need is to change leader and bring in someone who would be an easy target for the press and therefore take some pressure of Johnson.
Leave Starmer to finish the job he started and lets see the end of Lyin' Boris.

| We have tried a person like de Pfeffel who has lied on various subjects, apologised but not for his actions, spend tax payers money on his friends and lifestyle. I could go on but we all know the person he is and does his so called personality allows people to forget we are heading for the highest inflation and lowest growth, except Russia.
I actually believe that many of the public have now realised what he is.

Given a choice I’d have neither. But if it’s Hobsons choice it would have to be Starmer. If I got to choose the leader of the Labour Party he would be very far down the line.

| I wonder if de Pffell junior will forgive de Pffell senior for not getting him that £150,000 tree house. It is no great surprise that people concentrate on those things he has stuffed up because that is what he does unfortunately it costs the country every time.
