It seems she deliberately engineered the resignation in an attempt to cause maximum damage to the government. She gave them an hours notice before she was going to tweet her resignation. Whatever your opinion on what is going on in Gaza you would think any [igovernment minister[/i would give the government she is a member of the time to assuage any issues she had and if no suitable explanations or assurances were forthcoming[i then[/i resign but given Cameron was on holiday and the time limit she set this was a decision already made.

There is as much if not more politics in her decision as principle. I wouldn't be surprised for her to turn up as a UKIP candidate in a predominantly Muslim constituency once again failing to recognise the tokenism that got her the nomination in the fist place. Well, after the ceasefire that meant the killings stopped for a bit, Hamas have decided that the way forward is more ineffectual rocket attacks. Palestinians should probably show pictures of their dead kids to Hamas leaders instead of Western media outlets.
Still, the professional morally outraged seemed to have quietened down, perhaps they found a picture of a cat doing a handstand on Twitter.
