I'm enjoying playing through it, and if you like your action games then it's definitely worth checking out, but I suspect it might be wise to wait a few weeks if you don't want to pay full price.
These completely single player games tend to drop in price pretty quickly.

I got Darksiders 2 for £15 as a Christmas present. Enjoyed it a bit, mostly because I enjoyed the first. Don't think they really improved it enough and used a lot of 'dross' to fill parts of the game and make it longer, whilst the other was generally full of quality.

I never played all of the old DMC games but I fancy starting this new series. I'll probably wait a few months as said, I'm not desperate for it or anything.

I was put off getting Darksiders 2 when found it was about 60 hours long. I found the first one tedious at times and that about only about 20-30 hours long, so I really can't see what they could add to make me want to invest that amount of time into the game.

Some things they've added are better. They've added some decent RPG elements to the game that make it more interesting, but what makes it longer is ridiculously repetitive. There's a lot more travelling involved, you're often running/riding around for long periods without achieving much. Most of the 'challenges' involve you finding somebody you need, then having to run around to get that person 2/3 things they need. It really is repetitive, especially when you throw in the boring puzzles. The first one, as you say, was tedious enough, this one hasn't built on the other game's strengths, which is a real pity IMO.

Well DmC certainly has its replayability factor, there are 7 (seven!) separate difficulty levels for you to try out, including one where all enemies have regular health, but Dante dies in one hit.
Needless to say, I think that difficulty level is only for the hardcore enthusiasts!

Been playing Mass Effect 1 on the PS3, that game would be pretty much perfect if they transferred it into the engine used in 3. The combat (and Mako) really let the game down a fair bit.

Since when is September in Spring? I'm hoping the delay means Rockstar are going to make it a game worth waiting five years for.

Hopefully it'll be out on this generation and they aren't trying to push it back. Sort of seems silly that being the case though, I would've thought with its release being so close to new Xbox/PS that they'd save it for a first massive release.

Got to say the new Tomb Raider game looks great from the little I've seen of it. I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for it.

Ni No Kuni is shaping up to be everything I had hoped for and more. My copy arrived last night, I put a few hours in and I'm already totally hooked.
Think of it as a mix of Pokemon and Final Fantasy, with jaw dropping visuals and a full orchestral score for the soundtrack. Ridiculously high production values, Level 5 really do know how to make great games!

I REALLY want to play it, I just don't think I have the time. The last big game I played was Oblivion - and while I enjoyed it, it took me over a year to finish (about 140hours of game time IIRC). Haven't been able to bring myself to start another big RPG since.

It's so good, it just keeps getting better and better!
I just got the ability to tame creatures, which means that bascially ANY monster you fight on the world map carries a small % chance of becoming tame after you beat it. Once this happens you can take them with you and they'll fight for you in battles!

A game that was already ridiculously addictive just got even more so. I think you owe it to yourself to play it!

How much did you pay for it?

I'm looking at the download now for £49.99. Seems steep.

About £35 from zavvi, just had a look now and I can't see it on their website anymore. Game have it for £40.
Don't ever buy full games from the PSN Store - their pricing structure is completely screwed up, as evidenced by them charging £50 for it!

There's some reasoning behind it. Can't remember why but I'm sure there is.

Bought it from Tesco. Got £5 off it with a coupon and my bird's staff discount, so I paid £31.50 for it. Can't wait.

Just to sort of back up what Nothus has been saying. The game is absolutely fantastic. My copy came on Friday but I've only managed to get a couple of days in, it's absolutely brilliant so far and I've barely scratched the surface. Every time I learn something new it adds more fun to it, and I've only got three Familiars so far. As already said, it's what Pokemon would be like if it was on the current gen rather than handheld, it's immense.

Are there plans for sequels? Can see this becoming a fantastic series of games if the standards remain consistent.

Do those playing Ni No Kuni not feel a tad silly playing a game that is so visually childish?

Not really, you don't get anything extra for playing a game that's dead masculine, do you?

It's a fun game and has been really well made. It's not to everybody's tastes, but it's right up my street.

No, just not something I could imagine a young man playing. What age group is it aimed at? Is the game itself deep or as cutesy as the visuals?

I haven't played it long enough to measure how deep it is. I see a lot of potential in the game and its potential as a franchise. From the way the battles play out, there could be a huge multiplayer scene in the future with immense depth and skill, but that's all potential and I've only played the game for a few hours. I've really enjoyed it, it reminds me so much of Pokemon, it's the type of game the PS3/360 has lacked for a long time, but I also feel it's probably arrived a couple of years too late as it's just a single player game right now. I'm not always a fan of great single player games developing unnecessary multiplayers for the sake of it, but I'm already excited about playing this game in a few years time against friends. For now, it's an excellent single player game that fills a massive need in the gaming scene at the moment, the JRPG has struggled for years but this is something to draw people back in.

Well I've put about 60 hours into it so far, still not done. So yes, there's plenty of depth.

Based on the dev kit specs + controller it looks like it should be a great console...not too sure about the idea of 4 dual core CPU's over 1 8 core though (based on "leaked" specs).
