Anyone played the new Hitman game?

Far cry 3 anyone?

I was going to get Far Cry soon as it came out but seeing as I can't leave BO2 alone, then theres no real point in getting it yet. I think I'll wait awhile, does look brilliant though.

Definitely fancying Far Cry 3, and wouldn't mind Hitman. But I'm still juggling my time between Black ops and Assassins creed 3. The latter I must say seems harder than its predecessors.

Love the Assassins Creed games, but this third one. I don't really have a clue what's going on.

Loving BO2 though although I'm sick to death of getting cut off from the multiplayer then a message popping up saying 'Error server is not available at this time please try again later'.

Happens all the time sometimes once every ten minutes sometimes once every half hour. It's a joke.
Is this something wrong at their end causing this? Something that will be eventually corrected once they've tweeked with the settings etc?

It might be worth checking out the official BO2 forums, or Treyarch's twitter account to see if anyone else is having problems, but if I'm being honest I think it's probably something at your end considering your recent posts about your router etc.
FWIW I'm not having any connection issues when I play BO2.

Just tried having a couple of game of rugby league live 2 online. Absolutely awful. I'm pretty sure I was playing people in the UK but it was just impossible to make tackles and I got creamed every time because my players just seemed to stand around unresponsive, I've completed 2 seasons on veteran difficulty so it's not a case of me being rubbish. Won't be wasting anymore of my time online with it.

What chapter are you on? I'm 4 and a bit chapters in and I think the story so far has been great. I'm disapointed that after 5 games the controls are still very ropey, and unreliable. The combat system is very good though, and is a big improvement on the previous games.

You mean it's not just hold block and wait to time the counter button?

I got it for my birthday the other week but have not even tried it yet, as I also received Catherine and Dishonored and I'll be playing those first. Really should install it just to make sure I haven't got a dodgy disc before I risk getting caught up in Christmas exchanges.

I have to admit I've never understood why COD is so popular.

I think Call of Duty's success comes largely down to accessability. COD is easy to pick up and play and and it doesn't have a steep learning curve compared to other FPS's. The quick time to kill in comparison with games such as Halo also helps because it allows new players to pick up easy kills and feel good about themselves even though they are suffering a large number of deaths which keeps them playing.

The fact that COD is generally fact paced also helps, the perks/unlocks system is another thing which many people like and also and from a purely console perspective the fact that COD runs at 60 FPS as opposed to many other shooters which run at 30 FPS makes a huge difference in terms of controls and aim sensitivity.

IMO COD is a great series however both Treyarch & IW have both release games with major errors which have frustrated many of the hardcore fans These issues are less likely to frustrate people who are new to the game, so while many COD fans are abandoning the series this doesn't have a massive impact.

Black Ops 2 is possibly the most balanced COD yet and there are no gamebreaking perks/weapon combinations as there have been in past game, however there are major connection issues, the spawns are broken, the maps are mostly horrible with numerous headglitch spots and you cannot hear footsteps.

There are lots of things I like about BO2, however the flaws in this game make it incredibly frustrating to play.

Cod is like digital crack, seriously. It can be frustrating as hell sometimes, but I love playing it.
Currently having some fun without even taking a gun into matches. Ballistic knife, a couple of combat axes, the right perks and I can just run around and slice people up. It's a lot of fun to do.
One of the best features is the brief use of proximity chat whenever you kill someone. For a couple of seconds you can hear what their mic picks up after you kill them. Some of the reactions I've heard have had me in hysterics, especially when I'm using the aforementioned ballistic knife set up! Love it




On a completely different note, for any classic RPG lovers out there I strongly recommend you check out the Ni No Kuni demo that is currently on the PS Store. It's a whopping 2.6gb to d/l (wtf?!) but is definitely worth the wait. It looks absolutely beautiful, and the demo has filled me with a great amount of promise that the full game will be amazing when it lands in January 2013. Anyone who is a fan of the old-school japanese RPGs should certainly be checking it out.

In that case they should give map-packs out for free, rather than charging for content that they've just held back from the release.... but i doubt it

Playing through Bioshock again. Such a good game. The atmosphere and surroundings makes it very unnerving yet thrilling game to play. Loved the twist the first time I played it. Loved it even more this time. Five years old now. Up there with the best.

Just got Far Cry 3, seems pretty good. Quite brutal though. Got hitman to have a go at as well.

I've just bought Far Cry 3 off Game.co.uk for £22.49 which will be coming in a few days but what a bargain!
and I'll also be getting Hitman for xmas again for an absolute bargain at £20!

Initially impressed by Far Cry 3's graphics and story line. Took a couple of hours to realise there isn't an awful lot to do on the island other than walking continental distances without seeing something human to shoot at. The radio tower climb became boring very quickly. Ditto taking over enemy camps whose soldiers' AI falls somewhere between none and crap. Ditto the set pieces.

Price and game size really are no indicator of quality.

I watched somebody play through the majority of Far Cry 3, and by the time they got to the final few missions they just wanted the game to be over. A nice idea, but perhaps not executed to the high standards that we have come to expect from AAA titles.
