Looking at the panelists, the show was crying out for Ian Hislop or Mark Steel instead of Lydon

Dynamo - Magician Impossible new series tonight at 9, on Watch.. Looking forward to it

Couple of corking documentaries on last night. The Beeb one was about Victoria Pendleton, the golden girl of UK cycling. It showed her as driven, human and surprisingly fragile. She doesn't seem to be able to fully enjoy the success she has achieved.

That was followed on Channel 4 by 'The Wrestlers : Fighting With My Family', about a family from Norwich running a low-rent UK wrestling federation. Whilst most of the family toil away in half full church halls, the youngest daughter secures a contract with the WWE and moves to America, hoping to hit the big time.

I'd recommend trying to catch them if you can.

I saw the first 15 minutes of it and she came accross as a person with the weight of the world on her shoulders. She seemed like she couldn't wait for 2012 to be over so she could retire.

I managed about ten minutes, I kept looking for the bloke with a gun at the back of her head. When I didn't find him, I got bored

Just seen a trailer for the american version of the inbetweeners, It looks ridiculous. Straight out copied the script in every sense of the word and managed to ruin what was a good original british show. It looks horrific. I love the inbetweeners and seeing it sacrificed in such a way is horrible

They did the exact same with Shameless.

Except their version of Shameless is brilliant, certainly compared to the burnt out husk of a show the UK one is these days.

That's probably because the early episodes of Shameless over here were class compared to nowadays.

Yep, really enjoying it. Sort of like a cross between The Wire, Luther and Shadow Line. Get the feeling there'll be a couple of twists and turns before the end.

Have a look on the iPlayer and watch Bert and Dickie if you missed it last night and want to warm up for the Olympics rowing competitions, a simply wonderful drama set at the 1948 Olympics and contrasting beautifully with what we are seeing and doing now.

Watched the 'Soham' programme last night which was the documentary about how the parents of Holly Wells have got on with their lives since their daughter was murdered.
Her father came across as a very controlled individual.
Very admirable I suppose.
