Mate at work just been on phone trying to get Stone Roses tickets - putting card details in after finally getting through, and the website says - "SOLD OUT".

Less than half an hour after going on sale.

Sold 150,000 tickets in 14 minutes.

Sunday, July 1st tickets now on sale. I just managed to get a couple from ents24.com.

I've got a confirmation number from ticketline for my 4 for Friday but I'm a bit worried if it's a cock up with people saying the first 2 days sold in 14 minutes.

I managed to get these after about an hour at 10.30am.

Won't be best pleased if it is and I could have kept trying for Sunday.

Fingers crossed.

I was also at the Manchester City and Colour date and really enjoyed it. I thought it was on par with the last time I saw him at the Brudenell Social Club a few years ago. He has really embraced the live band aspect and some of the interpretations of the older songs with the full band sound fantastic. Stand out tracks for me were Sorrowing Man and Sometimes (I Wish). The only negative was the amount of s who were ed up near the back of the room.

It seems its just me who can't get excited about the Stone Roses gigs, I like them and as a band I think they were influential but to me this and every other reunion tours that these bands do seem really contrived and clearly all about the money to them. I remember seeing The Verve a few years back when they reformed at Blackpool and they were just going through the motions, I feel this will be the same.

I've also seen Ian Brown a few times and his singing was so terrible I don't think Id pay to see him 'sing' live again.

At the end of the day, everyone knows Brown is notoriously crap live but it's not just about him is it. Mani is still well in practice, the interested things will be if Reni and Squire can still cut the mustard.

True, its not all about him but it is hard to get past a lead singer who sings in a different key to the rest of the band!

Two tickets are going for £2000 on Ebay pretty consistantly at the minute. I love the band, I want to go, but if they're going for that price I will sell and clear my student overdraft!

Really, really cannot see that being a genuine bid. Nor the £10,000 or £50,000. IF you had that kind of money, you would be able to get VIP access with ease.

Kind of spoils the auction for the seller and someone who could have bought them.

I'll admit I couldn't care less about the stone roses or this reunion. Im not saying i don't like them, i've never listened to them in the first place.. I cant help that think at around 60 quid a ticket that they are just taking advantage. But i spose if people think its worth 60 quid a pop to see a band who havent played together for god knows how many years... and are known for being crap live to begin with... then thats their own choice.

Out of interest how much would a ticket for a Britney Spears concert cost these days?

For me i expected tickets to be a lot more than £55.

Anyone else heard of/like Lia Ices? She's a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter in the Feist/Cat Power/Tori Amos mould. Saw her supporting Jens Lekman at Thekla in Bristol last week, and was blown away. Her two albums are good, but not quite as immediate and haunting as the live versions(which is on youtube, if anyone is bothered to look it up). The current album, Grown Unknown, is well worth a listen though.

If you don't know them, and the sound of punky, hiphop flavoured, ska tinged rock floats your boat, get along to see them. Shame the new single isn't brilliant.

A very poor parody of the band they once were. Butchered most of the songs including Blurry

. No idea what Scantlin is playing at ... probably time to pack this poor bar band in for good.

I suppose that the signs were there ... latest album is a decidedly average collection of covers with no risks taken ... previous two albums weren't even released here ... and supporting Soil who 18 months ago themselves supported Shinedown (at the Leadmill) and have not exactly risen in the ranks in the interim.

Truly awful.

Tickets for Orbital on sale to mailing list people today for next April. Must admit I fancy seeing them at the Albert Hall.

The new track they've given away free is pretty good too.

'The Hunter' by Mastodon is phenomenal.
