cheers minty. been bad most of the day, a bit better now though.
was the same last week when we had a beef roast dinner. was in pain til the tuesday night.
i cant digest food as quickly as i used to be able to and im not supposed to eat fatty food or too much red meat or big meals. trouble is i prefer red meat.
i try to eat more chicken and healthier food, but i do like my beef.i just have to put up with the situation TBH.
i probabaly need stronger painkillers really.

Runny marge in a bottle. Cooking with Castrol GTX would probably be a healthier option

I don't even bother drawing or plucking pheasant. Just get your finger in the crop, rip it down, cut off the breasts and throw the rest in the bin. Pan-fry the breasts in butter & olive oil with some shallots and black cherries (if available). Glass of wine to deglaze, reduce and pour over pheasant breasts

Seem to remember Hugh braising them in cider in River Cottage.

I basically stood on the wings and pulled it's feet up which did the job pretty well! Whacked the bones and legs etc in a big pay with onions, carrots and stuff. It's turned into a pretty nice pot of soup.
The breast I will pan fry with butter probably, then have with some roasted veg and crushed new potatoes. The pot roasted option looks good though. Maybe next time, if there is one, I think my mate said pheasant season has just about ended now?
Amazing how much meat you get out of them actually! I've never done anything like this before, having the full animal and prepping it all myself. pretty chuffed!!
I got called a horrible vile man for being 'cruel'. If you don't want to know where meat comes from, you shouldn't be eating it

| Yeah, pheasant season finished last weekend. It's a bit criminal really, if you're in a shooting area you can pick them up for a bout a quid each, they have big piles of them, a lot must go to waste.
If you've never really cooked with them before the pot roast option is safest, least chance of them drying out.

| My mate gives them to colleagues for free. He gets wild, rabbit, all sorts. A lot of stuff he charges though I believe.
There was still barley (or similar) in it's belly!

No idea about black grapes in particular ... but I'd mention that any food eaten to excess isn't great.
I used to always have a bag of dried fruit and nuts in the car and for some years I'd happily scoff away on them on frequent long journeys.
I got kidney stones ... and then I read that nuts are very high in oxalate, which is what can cause the calcium to crystallise in your kidneys.
And I thought I was eating healthily !
p.s. Grapes are low in oxalate.

You'll probably get a meal deal for about £200k, its always a bit cheaper with a meal deal.

No meal deals if Heston's involved mate. The fries will be from an Andean tuber that has been sliced with the pubic hairs from a nun's fanny, then fried in Lady GaGa's nose grease and the shake will be from the breast milk of immaculately-impregnated virgins. You don't even want to know about the pickles.

| I'm looking forward to the Countryside Alliance objecting to this "in vitro meat".
We'll be able to sniff disdainfully and say that they just don't understand laboratory ways.

| I had wood pigeon cooked for me last evening, and thoroughly enoyable it was too. Discarded the fork and knife (waste of time) and had to use fingers to pick at it.
