Yes, if your TV has a PC channel there's a good chance that there's a VGA port on the back, simply plug it in, switch the PC channel (adjust resolution if necessary) and away you go

Yup and I prefer the vanilla AV, it bogged down my PC (Quad Core with 8GB RAM) way too much.

as daft as this sounds, it does have a firewall in it, just reading through the specs and it doesn't seem to mention it specificly, just dont want to have to go get something else to tag on or run separately.

It does it just bundles it up in the internet security stuff, I much prefer Zone Alarm or Comodo both free, I just want a firewall to do what it should be doing not worry what I'm doing.

Not yet mate. Had a couple of people put in some legwork for me, but they either look wrong or don't go on the site clearly.

Pretty much nothing apart from a gaming graphics card, it will handle basic games just fine though.

Been thinking about trying to set up something at home so we can watch Sky etc. when we're away, is there any way I can setup one of our laptops to be running "go to my PC" or something similar, connected to our home broadband, and then use the wireless lan when in hotels to connect via the internet with a different laptop???

Could you not use Sky Go on the lappy?

Better as it is free to use on its basic package.

thanks, in that case I can try the basic now and see if we'll need to pay for any extra features etc.

You actually start with a trial of the premium version and after it ends you just carry on with the free version.
I can use FTP or VNC for things it won't do in free mode.
