| So Biden has chosen Kamala Harris as running mate.
Is that to sway coloured voters and women voters in the swing states?

| At least it is clear rather than Trump and the GOP trying to get Kanye West on the ballet in those areas where they think he can take more votes from the Democrats.

| Trump stoking division between right and left wing.
It seems that it's now ok for civilians to travel from out of stat, shoot a couple of people and be forgiven as they are "protecting their property".
Whatever happened to Leaders uniting their people - this guy is one dangerous hombre.
Obviously he feels this may help get his campaign back on track but, at what cost to "his" people.

Don't different states have different laws who are run independently of the US government? unlike you I'm not clued up on the law over there but in some states apparently it's quite legal to shoot somebody while defending their property, so that's hardly Trumps fault if the governors' of those said states pass such laws, I'm sure Trump's guilty of many things without accusations like that, and no I'm not a Trump fan just fed up of reading the countless expansion theory threads of donnypoos.

Do you really think that the 17 year old who was armed and driven, to a peaceful protest was defending his property ??
Had someone nicked his skateboard
As for the US Gun laws, Obama was trying to do something about them and was blocked at every turn.
Trump on the other hand has done all that he can to strengthen them, mind you, he is backed by the NRA.
As I said in a previous post, Trump is a very, very, dangerous individual and has done more to divide his country in 4 years than any of his predecessors have done in the last 100 years.

| The problem is he was not defending anyone’s property at the time of the shooting he was sat on the floor after tripping. I guess no so brave when alone. If any of those approaching him had a gun he would not have been able to get up and walk through the police lines carrying his gun. The problem then becomes that those he is standing against arms themselves for protection and on it goes. The states do have different gun laws in one you cannot carry a flag but you can carry a gun or semi automatic rifle.
The second amendment they like to quote so often does give them the right to bear arms but when introduced muskets were all the rage. The solution is to keep it but for muskets only.
If you take Florida you can shoot somebody by quoting the stand your ground law which allows the use of deadly force if you believe you are in danger. This has resulted in someone being shot through the door when they only wanted directions. The home owner did not recognise him so believed he was a robber and killed him. A parking dispute arose which resulted in a scuffle, the man losing the fight drew a gun and shot the unarmed driver dead and once again quoted the above.

I neither know nor care what the NRA are/is, Obama is a Democrat, Trump is a Republican so it's hardly surprising they will agree on much inside American politics, it's called vote catching I think.

I'm sure every Democrat in America will agree with you that he is a dangerous individual, using your logic you could say that by doing that he's done a remarkable job.

NRA - National Rifle Association, the body who drive the gun lobby in the USA and are backed by Trump.
With the strong relationship between them, there will never be any tightening of gun laws over there.
Not sure where Trump is doing a remarkable job - by any measure

Well in this country there are multiple political parties where you don't have to actually win the election to be successful, whereas in America there are only two which means one winner only, that happens to be Trump for the time being, time will soon tell just how remarkable a job he's doing come the elections when the people go to the polls, one thing I do know is that whichever way it goes it won't be because he's Boris Johnston's mate, it will probably be because one of them will have promised the electorate the moon on a stick, not sure really why you and some of the Wakey fans have against Trump as their internal politics will have little or no consequence to you especially the gun laws which as far as I'm aware are brought in by individual states, otherwise wouldn't Obama have amended them, and also other than allegedly Johnston being Trumps lovechild.

I think that you are being naïve here.
As we are usually Americas "bitch" doing whatever "we" are told - The Iran war being a prime example, the President of the US most certainly does affect our lives.
Have you not seen the huge array of "American" fast food outlets and coffee shops over here, their influence is huge.
Also, as we have now taken a step back from being part of the EU, "we" will be desperate for a trade deal with them, bringing us closer still.
They (The USA) dont make our laws but, their influence will grow over the coming years.
As for being Bojos mate, this wont matter later next year as Bojo may not be "running" the country ?

Naive, you can't even spell it properly and no I'm not a member of the grammar police I just find it laughable that your such a hypocrite, the Iran war is that the one where your super hero the Labour leader Blair the original America's super bitch lied to the country to justify his decision to get into bed with the Americans, I don't get involved with politics because I'm out of my depth, you chief would be out of your depth in a car park puddle

The only thing desperate on here is you matey, get a life chief why do you think these fast food outlets and coffee shops are thriving, do you think it's because they're American or could it be simply because the good old naive British public like them just as the rest of the world or aren't they as influenced as us , as for Brexit the British people voted for it, get over it, as for the rest of your anti American stance save it for your mates in the snug when the normal conversation dries up, just as an aside how influenced are you with these American food outlets and coffee shops.

Where am I being a hypocrite ??
I used the Iran war as an example of jut how much the UK has to dance to America's tune.
Do you actually believe that there would have been ANY involvement over there, without Bush calling the shots.
Yes, Blair (wrongly) went along with it but, that is the price you pay when "big brother" calls in a favour.
As for out of my depth
It's an open forum not the HoP
My politics are left of centre and I make no apology for that.
However, unlike some, I'm happy to criticise any party who get it wrong, Red, Blue, Orange, Green, whoever and I dont cover myself with "Please don't confuse me with somebody that gives a toss" to try and avoid having to put my opinion forward.

This is a thread about the US presidential election so it would be interesting if you could just manage to name a couple of your criticisms on here against an has been politician whose political life is littered with failure, Corbyn was well off the scene when this thread was started so I'm not sure how he comes into the equation unless you have mistaken him for Johnston who you have lambasted on a regular basis, which by the way is not a criticism, also I'm not sure why you think It's me what needs to find the time to trawl through your posts which you allegedly criticise Corbyn, I'm sure if I did though and every critical post was worth say 10p, I wouldn't have enough to buy a lollipop

You're right about this thread being about the US presidential election, the clue is in the title.
It's difficult to criticise Biden (he hasn't been in the hot seat yet) but, Trump makes it easy, even for a simple guy like me, to find fault.
Did I think that Obama was better than the current President, hell yeah. He had class and vision and a decent sense of right and wrong. Trump, on the other hand, always reverts to type.
Thanks for the lollipop though

I'm not a fan of Trump personally nor am I a betting man, but I would bet my last shilling that the American people won't be taken in by him again, a truly horrible person who nobody in their right mind should believe or trust, unfortunately the American constitution or whatever it's called differs greatly to ours, and we don't have different laws in Cumbria, Yorks, Norfolk etc, we all have to abide by the laws of the land, so the only time I would defend Trump is on the subject you chose to highlight him on that's the gun laws over there, nobody in their right mind would have guns in their house, but then again from what you see happening over there who can blame them, maybe they all deserve each other.
