And I’d agree with you. But you then have to look at the circumstances that led to this country being at the forefront of the industrial revolution, for example. Key to it was the large amount of coal that was relatively easy to access and transport. I’m not downplaying the ingenuity and hard work required to exploit that natural resource - but without it or less of it or if it had been harder to reach, then history takes a different direction. Norway was one of Europe’s poorer countries when Knut Hamsun was writing - then its oil industry took off. Now they’re top of the mostly very white prosperity pops.
And this matters. If we believe we’re special when we’re not it could lead us into arrogant misjudgements and some right terrible pickles. |

I would have thought quality of life would be more important than this league table of monetary values. Looking at the USA, for a large section of the population no adequate health care is available. Large sections of the black community exist on a poor minimum wage with a poor welfare state. Some of which contributes to the black lives matter movement. World index of quality of life 2020 we are number 20 in the table, room for improvement but still a reasonable position. In your listed table we don’t appear to get a mention. We have 3 universities in the world’s top ten. Let’s not forget the many inventions that we have produced and introduced to the world. The most recent was the World Wide Web. |

We are, indeed, a small country that has, historically, punched well above it's weight. We have an inherent sense of entitlement, but The Empire has gone, the Commonwealth is close to becoming nothing more than a ceremonial club, our 'special relationship' with the US is the only reason we still have a say on the world stage.
Quite what this has to do with American politics in general and the Presidential Election Campaign in particular I am unsure. |

Was it not one of Trump appointees who arranged the secret deal to keep Epstein out of prison whilst in Florida allowing him to continue. I suppose Trump needed him to prepare for his own future runs in with the law relating to his time in office when he is no longer president.
Why do you describe the women as a tart but don’t add a similar moniker to Epstein who was the actual perpetrator of the crimes. |

Corbyn is serving as an MP he is not writing his memoirs or joining the lecture circuit like the previous two incumbents of number 10 and I don’t believe he intends to buy a Romany caravan for his garden. I don’t think he ever had the authority to do those things listed but that is irrelevant because most of these sprung from and I use the word loosely brain of the well know strong and stable genius Trump rather than based on fact unless you follow Fox News.
Your turn of phrase also suggests you really should go into a dark room and rethink your life because the alternative is to become an hermit and stay away from people.

I see he's rallying the deep south by saying the BLM protests caused the Covid peak, I have come around to the idea that he really isn't fit for office, he has done some good things, but the imbecilic comments far outweigh them.

I think he’s completely rewritten what it means to be fit for that office. He’s survived several scandals and incidents that would have ended any other presidency, imo. It’ll be interesting to see how permanent the change is, particularly in 4 years when the Republicans have to select a new presidential candidate. Will they revert to somebody like Paul Ryan - assuming he decided in wait out this mess and distance himself from it, rather than genuinely retiring from politics. Or will we see a run from Donald Trump Junior? We’re so far from what I would have thought possible 5 years ago, it is very difficult to think of anything that’d be surprising.
What good things has Trump done, in your opinion? Recently, I see a case for ‘standing up to Xi Jinping’, but tbh honest, I’d give credit to Xi Jinping for standing up to Trump too. There’s really nobody for me to root for in that relationship. |

Changing Obamacare was an effort to make healthcare more accessable to the less well off! Back to huge medical insurance bills and premiums then??? |
