2010/11 Crown Court outcomes shows an 80% approx conviction rate,, based on convittion after trial and guilty pleas, with only a 6% acquittal rate after trial and a 20% overall acquittal rate. I'd guess that a private company would be fairly happy with an 80% success rate in their work in this area, given the complexities of criminal law and the fact that a third party (magistrates or jury) will consider the final decision. The fact that 70%+ of people charged pleaded guilty suggests that you're just trying and failing to have a dig at a public sector body again. Did they drop the charges against someone who offended Dally plc at some point? Is that why you're having a pop?

The CPS ain't perfect but (on another thread perhaps) lets have your suggestions for a better system.
